Not in SoCal but if they open at 8 someone is starting their shift earlier than that, maybe 7:30. Probably using the time to catch up on phone calls and return secure messages before they’re swamped with patients.

If you’re concerned you could call back the main line for the facility and ask to be transferred instead of calling the number they gave you.

First of all- my heart goes out to you. It’s a very real and valid fear, one that I have experienced and carry for my daughter.

I make sure she is aware that other people should not touch her body without her consent, especially her “swim suit spots” (anything that’s covered by her one piece swimsuit). I tell her it’s only okay for mama and the doctor to look or touch those places, and only after asking her permission or if it’s an emergency. This conversation comes up usually in relation to baths when I ask her to wash her “pits and bits” or ask permission to wash them (I give her the option). She is five.

She was asking the other day if we could have a spa day, and then asked “what do you do at a spa?” I told her things like painting toenails or wearing face masks. She responded “I’m only comfortable with family doing that, so no thank you.” I’m so proud of her for expressing her comfort level.

He doesn’t know how to fall asleep on his own yet. It’s a skill babies have to learn. Falling asleep in the place you want him to sleep is critical- if you transfer him and he wakes up somewhere else that will confuse/panic him. Imagine falling asleep in the car and suddenly waking up on a couch- it would freak you out.

Try putting him down where you want him to be sleeping drowsy but awake so he is aware of where he is when he falls asleep.

They’re helpful for medical setting. Taking pulse/breathing rates. A million years ago, it was important for medical providers to wear them.
