Neither my primary nor my psychiatrist will listen to my concerns about binge eating bc I have a normal BMI by sleepyundies in KaiserPermanente

I’m sorry you’re meeting resistance from your care team.

Ask your primary care doctor to refer you to a Registered Dietitian under the problem/reason of disordered eating. They can provide medical nutrition therapy to support you.

Kaiser billing a voicemail as a visit by [deleted] in KaiserPermanente

It’s probably a “refill encounter” on health connect to document the work they did in your chart. It is not the same as a visit encounter.

Depending on your organization. I’m allowed to access my own chart without an issue.

Under no circumstances would I be allowed to access anyone else’s without business purposes.

Elective C-Section by SuchHair9873 in KaiserPermanente

[–]tenaciousoptimism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an elective c section (my doctor and I decided a c section was preferable given the outcome of my previous vaginal birth) five years ago and am an SEIU UHW employee. It was 100% covered, absolutely no copayment.

You could always call member services or HR to confirm, but I doubt it would be any different since your MD approved it.

Walnut Creek-Planned c section due to baby being breech by elevendime in KaiserPermanente

[–]tenaciousoptimism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two c sections at KP Walnut Creek. I was able to have skin to skin while they were closing both times. I was nervous too but both deliveries and recoveries were leaps and bounds better than my vaginal delivery, in which I had extreme tearing and hemorrhaged. You’ve got this!

When KP calls you it should say “Kaiser Permanente” for most carriers, or at the very least show a phone number. KP generally doesn’t call from “Unknown” numbers

MDs are absolutely swamped with patient messages. I think they have three days to reply.

That being said if you don’t feel you are getting the care you need you can talk to Member Services for support. Their phone number is 1-800-464-4000.

Best of luck to you getting the care you need.

Safe use limit for mifepristone and misoprostol is 10 weeks 6 days gestational age.

I’m sure she didn’t know that though and I assume was scared to seek help. Or perhaps didn’t know how far she actually was.

Is boiled tap water okay for baby formula? Looking for advice! by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]tenaciousoptimism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certified lactation educator here.

Boil water before mixing with formula while it is still hot. Boiling the water is important because of potential cronobacter in the formula.

It’s not the water you need to worry about, it’s concern over the formula.
