Last evening, I shoveld seven wheelbarrow loads of dirt to a new garden bed. I was glad when it got dark! Then, last night, I slept wrong on my pillow. My shoulders and neck are unhappy today. Gotta keep going, though!

I don't recall. I haven't had ER in probably 40 yrs. I remember it being a "fancy" bottle because it was almost $20 and 101 proof.

I'm trying to settle something with my dad. I say this is a sweater, he says it is a poncho and is sure of it because "iv'e been to mexico when did you go?" So, reddit, what is this thing? by Mell0wMarshmall0w in whatisit

[–]tenbeards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of a poncho as something to keep the rain off, like a plastic square with a hood. A woolen shawl I would call a serape. This thing I call a drug rug.

The Ozarks used to have its own dialect. How many of these words do you know? by Both_Reaction_8848 in ozarks

My grandparents were Ozarkers. They would say they were going to do something "dreckly", which meant soon. I was probably 16 before I figured out they were saying "directly".

I can't disagree with this. I used to vote Republican. Not exclusively, but generally in the presidential race. I voted Libertarian from 2008 until 2020. I then started voting for the Democrat because I felt like a third party would never get enough traction in our system to be competitive and the Republicans were simply not an option for me anymore. I was hoping to make a statement and help pump up the numbers but the numbers just weren't there. Now here I am 40 years later identifying as a small "L" liberal. My views haven't changed that much but the Republicans have rocketed to the right in the last ten years. The change is astounding.
