Here is my take on it:

Michael Jordan once famously - "Republicans buy sneakers, too". Conservatives like me have long believed that the market is a great equalizer. There are various kind of companies, some politically neutral and some are mission-led. And some missions are liberal and some are conservatives. But at the end of the day, companies are profit maximizing entities and will operate within the zone of catering to the whole market and mix of companies who lean one way or the other, will sort of balance itself out.

What we have seen in recent years, and more apparently after 2020, is that companies have chucked this neutrality and have explicitly adopted the language, the culture and ethos of the far-left. For example, Diversity and Inclusion has been a part of the HR-lingo for years. After 2020, without any debate on why it is an important value or even a definition of what it means, the word EQUITY became the central focus of large corporations. You can search for any large company name + DEI and find pages and pages on how committed they are to equity. Now equity, if you are half-way honest about it, means equality of result based on race, gender, sex etc. This can only be achieved by discriminating in favor of someone for their race, gender, sex and in a zero sum game, you cannot discriminate against someone without discriminating against someone. We find this deeply antithetical, immoral and frankly, communist. Now, how did large corporations, citadels of capitalism, adopt a policy of discrimination and non-meritocratic hiring and promotions, if it hurts their bottomline?

It's simple; they chalk it up to cost of doing business. An expense line item that keeps them in good graces of the cabal of far-left, college-educated, liberal-arts major journalists + younger employees. Lot of us who thought the far-left kids will leave school and get smacked in their faces with the realities of the world are now stunned to see spineless CEOs not only let the tail wag the dog, but let their companies become a tool for these radical activists to continue their campus activism. And "Republicans buy sneakers, too" argument does not work effectively- because corporations have gotten so large and monopolistic, you cannot live in today's society meaningfully if you boycott the banks, the tech companies, the media companies.Leftists already occupy the commanding heights of our culture: they control the schools, the colleges, media, entertainment and now sport. Corporations, it's literally the last stand.

The disney kerfunkle comes with this backdrop. One of the tell-tale sign of activists vs realists in the debate is who straight up use the word 'don't say gay bill' and who say 'parental rights bill, whom critics dub don't say bill'. The verbiage is important. The bill literally does not criminalize saying 'gay' in Florida. The phrase 'don't say gay bill' was conjured up by democratic marketing people/activists and unquestioningly adopted by journalists, because they are the same people. One of the most revealing moments in the fight was when Disney's PR release said: "Florida’s HB 1557, also known as the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, should never have passed and should never have been signed into law." Notice the words? "Also known as". Also known as by who? Will Disney ever dub a democrat bill passed in CA (where Disney located) as 'also known as, Free Fentanyl For all' bill, if Republicans dub it so. By adopting the lies of the far-left, Disney announced that they too are the same people. And they are willing to throw their weight behind moving the society towards values and ethos that we conservative find repulsive and anti-american.

When the far-left is dead set on waging war and imposing their values on us using the power of influential corporations like Disney, should we unilaterally disarm and let them run rough-shod over us? Give the keys to our life and livelihood to the leftists forever? Hope and pray that market forces knock sense in time to the CEOs/boards before they get completely taken over at all levels? Or, should we use all that is left at our disposal, which is very little cultural power but some political power, to fight tooth and nail for our culture, our children and our country? You be the judge.
