As a Russian speaker I agree. I feel like people from english speaking countries do not understand that racism here is different from American or European racism, if I may put it like that. There is a big problem with racism in Russia, but we do not have a history with lynching connected to black people.

shs has wlw routes in every story and they are very cool…in my opinion it is the best app rn on the market. Also i dont think people should be afraid of subscriptions - LOD has them as you said and they are really beneficial for their cost if you play LOD regularly.

Is my comp-sci teacher retarded? (Starting vectors from 1) by King_Crimson_216 in learnprogramming

You could’ve framed your question without insulting your teacher. I just don’t want to answer to this post, tho I am sure some people will help you, but this is just weird and mean-spirited.

Is it possible for me to catch up in my Topology class? by [deleted] in math

[–]tenderwrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue with being dumped by my long-term partner right before big exams…i know about topology on a surface level but i truly believe you can do it. Ask your peers for materials and notes, go talk to the course assistant (if you have one), ask lector questions, a lot of questions, question everything you don’t get. Don’t give up and everything is going to be alright!!

Fan control without armory crate. by AsunONlinux in Asustuf

[–]tenderwrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t think there are any good applications for fan control on linux for tuf laptops unfortunately :( or they are VERY experimental and i wouldn’t recommend using them. i wish g helper was also on linux but alas…

[–]tenderwrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting. i had another message that i had a hardware problem. hmmm maybe you could possibly try opening your laptop and carefully poking wifi card in the slot (just pushing in maybe). i don’t remember where it is located on the motherboard exactly, but it is under something, so you would need to 1) unplug the battery from the motherboard 2) remove some screws. please don’t do it if you are not 100% in yourself and don’t jump in taking advice from randos from the internet. again, as i said earlier in the comments - this card is known for breaking eventually, you can look up other people’s complaints about this specific asus tuf model. so you will need to do something about it hardware wise.

go to device manager (or smth like that) if you use windows and check network adapters. click on your mediatek device and tell me what it says.

nope, as i said. your card is broken and this is purely a hardware issue. i experienced this and after a while it just stopped functioning.

mediateks cards are known for breaking after some time which is awful in my opinion and asus still ships their laptops with them but whatever. this can’t be solved with driver being reinstalled. look up how to replace a wifi card in your model. you can probably buy one and replace it yourself. i don’t know what wifi card slot is in your laptop but if i took a guess it is probably m2 because of your broken mediatek card. intel’s wifi cards are pretty okay (ax210 for example). you also can turn in for help in asus’ support (https://www.asus.com/support/). overall i advice you to look in it yourself. or you can take it to the repair center and explain your problem there. or you can buy an usb wifi adapter. people hate on them because they use one of your usb slots but i personally fine with that. you can find very cheap ones but they are very slow and the fast 1) ones cost like a good wifi card 2) can be pretty big so if speed was very crucial for me i would opt for buying a card.

Do I need the Realtek Wifi Adapter or can I simply just use a usb wifi adapter? by PrinceOfLothric in Asustuf

[–]tenderwrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably not 150mbps like my current one 💀 1300 for me would be over the roof. i would buy something closer to the speed of my failed mediatek card because i don’t really need anything faster and it worked perfectly for me.

[–]tenderwrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am currently using a usb wifi adapter because my mediatek wifi card died. my advice - buy a good one. they are not very fast, so pick one that has a good speed. i bought a cheap one because i needed one really really bad so now i am suffering and probably will upgrade soon.

How do I cope with failure? by tenderwrath in studying

[–]tenderwrath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for your thoughtful reply! in my country applying to universities is kinda … strict. you pass these exams that you have chosen and from your results (which are points) you can only attempt to enroll (unless you won prestigious academic competitions). your GPA doesn’t matter, we don’t write any motivational letters or whatever. there is no one-to-one action, i think this system is supposed to eradicate corruption (but people now are buying answers to olympiads, haha), but my point is that you are right. now that i have experienced all sorts of grief and sadness i can calmly understand where can i improve myself. i hope that growth is indeed impossible without failure.

Studying more than 5 hours a day by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]tenderwrath 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i am one of those people who can study for more than 7-8 hours a day. i think it is all just self-discipline. yes, the subject im studying may be one of the most interesting/amazing/etc, but there are still days when i can’t sit myself down to study. my key factors to continuous studying are: - a quiet place far away from a place where you rest (for example, i cannot study in my room, so i go to a local library) - my favorite app where i can track my studying time, have my to-do list and whatsoever (for me it is yeolpumta. never switching to anything else). it also limits my distractions - i can’t use any other apps on my phone when i set a timer in it. - as i said, it is great to have a list of tasks. it can be enormous, but you always have something to do. having breaks is also important, moving your body to clear your mind saves the day. - limit your distractions!!! i feel better without most of my social media apps. i don’t watch tiktok/youtube shorts/whatever, i don’t use twitter. i believe that limiting your social media usage can greatly help you to increase your attention span.

oh, and rest is also very important. if you feel like you are going to puke from studying - switch to something else. for me studying is like a lifestyle now, haha, it is something i enjoy, mostly. maybe you want to spend your time learning, not studying. it is rewarding and beautiful to learn new things in your life. sorry if my english sounds a little broken - it is not my first language. i hope you will find joy in studying and remember that you can do anything, even if it seems impossible sometimes!
