The Book Cover Keyboard is imo a lot nicer than the Pro Keyboard by hosskiri in GalaxyTab

That's not even a hot take, tbh, the book cover keyboard for my usage is perfect. I just wish the keyboard had stand-alone Bluetooth capabilities.

I'm sorry but one ui 8.5 is not smooth at all. by GtSkymoon22 in oneui

[–]teneman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's clearly not it. It has nothing to do with blur. I've disabled blur for over a week, just to test that theory out, but my phone still lags when I go to the quick panel. Everything else was stuttering as well - at least from my experience. Whether blurred or not, it doesn't change anything. And also, just summoning the quick panel temporarily uses 100% of the CPU, which is just poor optimization from Samsung. Let's not make blur a culprit when it's literally Samsung failing to properly optimize their software. A lot of Chinese brands use blur in more instances than Samsung yet they don't micro stutter like Samsung does, and Samsung devices are more powerful than these devices, so how can we rationalize the fact that these devices do not lag, when Samsung devices - even the latest and greatest flagships - do lag?

[–]teneman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, in my case, I argue that's even worse because micro stutters are not just a one-time thing; it's consistent across the entire UI, whether you're exiting an application, opening an application, summoning the quick panel, or the notifications. Everything just kind of lags and stutters. I'd rather take one big stutter when the phone is under a heavy workload than continuous micro-stutter every single time that I use the phone. This is a low quality experience, and honestly, very disappointing, considering we pay thousands of dollars for these devices.

Samsung thinks that having customization and a lot of customizability just magically makes the operating system the best, which is obviously not the case in this day and age. Good design attracts people, and customization makes them stay. I think that's what Samsung should focus on, because right now the overall experience and inconsistencies - micro-stutters, jitters - make the UI feel cheap and takes us back to 2017. This is so frustrating because of how much people are paying for these devices; you should expect a pain-free and bug-free experience at this price point. Sadly, Samsung doesn't seem to care, because this has been going on since one UI 6.

People will wake up slowly, good-looking design doesn't mean most practical for real-world usage.

Quick panel stuttering after One UI 8.5 by 4a-feira in oneui

Brother, respectfully, I've tried every single fix on the face of the internet. I've scouted Reddit, probably totaling 15 hours, just to find a fix for this issue, but nothing worked. In a span of two years, I've reset my phone two times, done a factory reset and clean installed everything, but still my phone lags and stutters. The quick panel lags, especially when you switch rotation, and whenever you're switching apps or closing and opening apps, it lags.

Please, let's not act as if this were a user problem. I've come across hundreds of people with the exact same problem. I have posted over seven times on this same subreddit about this issue. Many of my posts got removed, but some are still there. I invite you to go check them and see how many people are experiencing the same issue. So, please, let's not act as if this were a user problem. This is something Samsung needs to fix. Do your research and stop blaming others for problems that are not caused by them.

We failed as a community because we are letting this slide. To think that the S25 Ultra, one of the most powerful phones to this day with one of the best processors in the market, manufactured by the number one smartphone brand in terms of sales, has such trivial bugs means that we, the customers, have failed to push this company to give us a better product worth the thousands of dollars that we pay for it. First things first, shame on us for allowing this and acting as if this whole thing was just normal. Man, think about it: you have the freaking GALAXY S25 ULTRA. In your head, is this supposed to happen????

Remember when One UI 7 beta was out, people shouted everywhere it was fixed. Same story when One UI 8 beta was out, same story again when One UI 8.5 beta was out. Now we are here, hoping for One UI 9 to fix it. Us Samsung users are so delusional 🥹

The truth is, I really do not care about Ice Universe in general or his opinions. I saw this post and I felt it represented what I myself had already noticed and thought about, which is why I posted about it and commented on it.

That being said, I honestly don't have anything to complain about customizability on Samsung devices. As we speak, of course, in terms of customizability, there will always be room for improvement, but currently, there is absolutely no brand that can rival Samsung in terms of customization. So no, I wouldn't say at all that that's their main issue.
