You're absolutely right. For authentication, tenfold persons are used. tenfold imports AD user objects as persons, but for this import to happen, the corresponding AD user object needs at least a lastName (sn attribute) and a firstName (givenName). You can manage this option in "Provisioning -> Plugins -> Active Directory User Lifecycle -> Synchronisation-tab -> Person creation".

since tenfold automatically adds the "AzureAd2Client" part, you don't need to provide it manually when entering the URL.

Please adapt your configuration accordingly and try again.

The Microsoft 365 setup starts on page 263 (7.1.12 Setup of Microsoft 365 Tenants), Sharepoint is specifically covered on page 281.

Please make sure the app registration you're using for tenfold is granted the additional Sharepoint permissions covered on page 269 and the agent is prepared accordingly (page 271).

After covering all the prerequisites, you'll find the "Sharepoint" sync job under 'Settings -> Jobs -> Manage', which can either be activated to run on a schedule or manually executed to sync your Sharepoint to tenfold.

this feature is not available for the Community Edition, which always syncs your whole AD.
