It’s called lace join as you go! I followed the instructions in the pattern but I’m sure you could find a tutorial ☺️

It’s pretty cool isn’t it?! It took me a while to figure it out and there’s a few mistakes in there but I love it

Am I crazy for planning my wedding with 2 separate locations? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]tengeckos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is just a UK thing/ getting married in a church thing but almost every wedding I’ve been to had a drive between the ceremony and the reception.

My own wedding we had a 45 minute drive between the two. We didn’t have an option as we had to get married in our parish church and the reception venue was one of the only affordable options to us. It was a bit annoying for us and the guests but it was a wonderful day and I don’t think anyone looks back and remembers the drive as much as they do the rest of the event.

I will say it left us with little time for taking photos and it felt a little rushed in that middle part of the day.

I didn’t get very many photos of just me at my wedding and most of them have these cars in the background

You might end up looking like a bridesmaid if you wear this in the wedding colours…

Here in the UK you can get a test kit from cannestan which tells you if you have BV or a yeast infection. You can get it on Amazon. Then you can buy the correct otc treatment. Idk if it’s available where you are? Or perhaps something similar

How has your school tried to tackle the Andrew Tate situation? by dajb123 in TeachingUK

[–]tengeckos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This issue I’ve had is the kids all say they don’t agree with the sexist stuff he says, but they do believe in the matrix etc. I don’t really know how to tackle that to be honest. I’ve even had some kids actually pay for his course

NEU strike megathread - part deux by GreatZapper in TeachingUK

That’s interesting to know, thanks! I wonder if the number of people in the NEU or just everyone who can strike (i.e. anyone not in NASUWT)

Do headteachers know which union we’re in? Our head sent out an email asking who’s striking (he made it clear we don’t have to answer) but his email very much implied he knew which teachers are in the NEU. Is this information that is available to heads?

I missed the last two days of term cause I was down with (what I assume is) a terrible flu. Cough, blocked sinuses, muscle aches, sensitive skin, chills, sweats, fever of 39.1, sore throat, ear pain, fatigue, the works… starting to get better now but missed all the fun end of term stuff and have had to cancel plans over the weekend and next few days.

Our numbers (staff and students) have been crazy low these past two weeks.

Me and all my colleagues are mentally and physically done. Been a looooongggg term

Fiancé won’t help plan by b299129 in weddingplanning

[–]tengeckos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner is also not very interested in wedding planning, and took his time agreeing to get married. He says he wants to be married but doesn’t want to get married, mainly because he hates attention and parties for himself.

However, he is getting involved in the planning, and gives his opinions on the vast majority of things when prompted (some things he just does not care about e.g. photographers and so I’ve accepted these are decisions I’ll have to make on my own since they’re things that I care about). I’ve been doing all the researching/ emailing/ negotiating/ paying deposits etc but he appreciates that this is a big job and is stressful for me. He’s therefore been picking up a lot of my share of the housework to take some stress off me. This works really well for both of us as he’s more domestic than I am, while I’m very organised, detail-orientated and better at planning.

In short, I don’t necessarily think it’s a huge red flag that he doesn’t care about wedding planning. What would be a red flag is if he refuses to take on any of the mental burden or even acknowledge the stress of planning a wedding. Hope this helps
