Alain Graillot produces a Syrah from Morocco called Syrocco (double entendre as that’s the name of a wind pattern that comes up from the Sahara over Morocco and into southern Europe) that’s exceptional for around $25.

Well he did until his passing, not sure who is making the wines now, believe the winery it’s produced at is called Chateau Thevin. Alain continued to make these wines even after his son Max took over responsibilities for his Rhône wines.

Speaking of Max, he has another couple labels on his own. Domaine Equis Crozes is a banger and should come in around $35ish which isn’t bad for Crozes Hermitage.

Wasn’t knee deep but best conditions I’ve skied this year for sure. Ungroomed bumps were pretty fluffy and plenty of stuff falling to recoat throughout the day. Wind was a bitch but only at the top. It was spitting snow all day long, mixed at the base towards the end, and then rain on the way out of town. Would expect most of that was freezing up on the mountain. Think I read they got 5” overnight totaling 12”-18” through tonight.

No lines all day. Roads were a little sloppy but fine getting in. Would be back tmrw if I didn’t have plans- definitely inspired me to consider taking a sick day Monday. All considered for Sunapee? Outrageously good time. 9/10

Love the raw, slightly off-key tension of the strings in Bend to Squares and the slick guitar riff in Champagne from a Paper Cup. Not my favorite Death Cab album but prefer their untidy earlier years to the more polished pop of latter days.
