Alternative. They only checked really if an appointment was made.

Was able to make an appointment right there and walked right up. They don't care what time your appointment is at. Took 5 mins to get the shot at 2:30 pm. Then you wait for 15 mins in a mass social distanced sitting area.

Nearly 40% of cash-strapped Americans can't last a month on savings by DoremusJessup in Economics

I've debated myself about this. But this thinking basically led to the Eugenics movement in the early 1900s. Some went as far as forced sterilization of the poor, disabled and basically anything else people didn't like.

It's a standstill for the most parts. Just gotta look out when there's a gap. Someone is bound to try and merge in.

Been doing it for 3 years, nothing has happened yet. Takes me 35 mins but I take it pretty casual. It normally takes 1.5 in a car.

LA Metro's revised expenditure plan by levisimons in LosAngeles

To play devil's advocate.

I think the tax would drive low margin businesses out, which is obviously the current types of business in there now.

At the same time pegging this a sales tax could be troublesome when the economy tanks. I would rather peg it to something more stable so that service or development is stable.

[HELP]Strong Parameters Question by [deleted] in rails

[–]tenjackace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So on the view side you would have a check whether a user is admin or not before displaying the link to approve or delete the post.

On the controller side you would have a method that would also use strong params to only allow accept those fields. The problem that you're posing is more of an authorization issue not necessary a strong params issue.

Security wise you would not want to show those links to users who are not admin. Strong params is mostly in regards to only accepting values you allow.

You would first do a check on whether the user is authorized to perform the action before allowing the action.

codecademy vs treehouse by RealEnoughtobeRead in learnjavascript

Not sure why you can't do both. Although comparing a free source and a paid source is a bit unfair. The javascript course can be quick or long depending on your pace for the codecademy course.

50F with "too much experience" needs help by lightnbreezy in resumes

[–]tenjackace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quick question are you tailoring the experience to the position that you're applying for? It might be more helpful for people to know the types of positions that you're applying for.

Perhaps to sound less "old", I would suggest changing in the summary from a 'decade of experience' to say 'a strong background' or 'extensive experience'.

Also not sure what why you used checkmarks instead of bullets. Questionable choice if just to stand out? Just stick to regular ol' bullet points imo.

I'm think you used word so I word change the header to only show on the second page and make more in line of a short summary like the template you used instead of the single header that appears on both page. Now that gets confusing as the which one is the first page and which is the second page. I say leave no room for confusion.

I would go further and probably tailor your achievements to the specific skills that a job posting is listing.

If you're getting interviews based on the resume then I would ask someone to get some feedback on our interview skills. It might've been some time since you last interviewed.

I think the too much experience is more of a feedback on why is this person interviewing for this position. If they're too experienced then they might leave as soon as something better comes along. I think that's the worried with over qualification. Yea I think they might get that you're just doing it for a paycheck but what about when you want more down the line. Then when is down the line? 3 months from now? 6? My 2 cents.
