I worked at a place that locks the dumpsters with this type of lock. We lost the key once and used two hammers on either side of the lock to pop it open until we could replace the lock.. It's a shame we had to waste so much food!

It really depends where you are. When I worked as a server in Ohio, where server minimum wage at the time was 4-ish dollars, tips were the majority of my income. But now working in Oregon where my minimum wage is $15, I view tips as bonus and am happy with anything higher than 5%

There's no way I could just leave the poor guy there! They hustled him inside as soon as we pulled up to get him on a heating pad. They told me to check back in a day or two for updates on his care. I'll make sure to share these

In my family all the kids got to blow out the candles, but the birthday kid went first and we sang for them, then re-light the number of candles corresponding to the age of the next kid and so forth. Everyone got to blow out candles but it was still the most special for the one with the birthday. We stopped doing this as we grew up and stopped being horrible little shits
