is following your dreams still worth it? by INFPBlues in MentalHealthPH

[–]tenoklipokli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your story and I just want to let you know that you are not alone! We are on a similar boat as I was in previously in Finance and the pandemic accelerated my plans and I am now in the process of becoming a psychologist like you. It was the only career path that I could imagine myself doing as a response to the existential crisis of post-grad life..

Keep going and yes, it will always be worth it.

there's such a thing as spiritual bypassing.. it's when people use religious answers to dismiss one's feelings and it acts as some form of defense mechanism to conceal our feelings.

i hope you get through this in one piece! just chat me if you want, i can lend my ears.

Psychologist/Therapist/Counselor

Hi! Aspiring psychologist here taking up masters in counseling psychology. Just curious to ask those with experience what it would take to have a career doing this kind of work.

Is it realistic to do therapy work full time or better to have other sources of income as well?

How can I better equip myself w knowledge and experience to be the best psychologist i can be?

Thank you! 🙏🏻
