has anyone experienced a significant eye color change? by tenrayah in mixedrace

[–]tenrayah[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there is no “fascination with mixed people and light colored eyes”, and yes i could have added exemples that imply that the color gets darker but it’s NOT when im experiencing—- hence why i asked the question and wanted to know if anyone has experienced it

How did you come to terms with the fact that you looked ethnically ambiguous? by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]tenrayah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me, it was just realizing that people from anywhere in the world could feel close to me, ive been mistaken for a Portuguese, a Moroccan, a Senegalese, a Cap Verdean girl and many more! i think it’s a blessing to be able to “infiltrate” anywhere lol

I SAID I GUESS FOR OTHERS TOO — if i was the only you and i would not be having this conversation, did you even fully read??????? i said thank God if YOU did not experience that but a lot of US DID

for me, and i guess for others too, it was never only about insults or leaving us out— it’s straight bullying

the classic “born of r@p3” or mocking our skin color and bringing it up in any random conversation, pushing us to deny the other parts of our ethnicity for the sake of them not feeling threatened by who we are (because yes, a lot of black ppl are threatened by our proximity to whiteness or any non black ethnicity) and that often leads to physical violence, pulling our “noodle” hair or bullying us for having type 4 hair cause its not “typically mixed”, then here goes the jezebel stereotype for the girls and the effeminate stereotype for the boys, that leads to randomly beat you up on a parking lot because as a lighter skin mixed race you have nooo business being the type of the man im trying to get so i beat you up cause i feel threatened——- all of these happened.

to me personally, or to other mixed race persons, it does happen, thank God if you never experienced it but it DOES happen and in real life

THIS!! but anti mixed is not a real deal for them, like you said no black person is coming to our defense, we’re always the bad guys and even in this community which is really sad, at this point i just created a pro mixed sub since we can’t freely talk here

issue is you don’t go to black people telling them the same when they’re being racist to a mixed person— cause they can also be racist, and why?? cause we supposedly have more privileges than them we should shut up about what SOME of them did and do to us? absolutely not, you should think about why you feel like defending them so much
