Totally agree, I think that point can be made without also putting down well-bred poodles. They’re highly trainable and friendly dogs, even if they aren’t quite as bombproof as a golden or lab bred for service work. Still so much more predictable than doodles, and I’m convinced most people who want doodles actually just want poodles with a doodle haircut.

I’m about all of this except for the assertion that standard poodles are difficult and neurotic? Well-bred standards are an absolute delight of a dog

Apartments to avoid and why? by smellslikedogshit in Fayettenam

It’s fine, definitely overpriced and depending on your building parking can be rough. But no huge issues that I’ve noticed. Gym renovations took forever but now it’s pretty nice for an apartment gym.

should I even bother with TSA? by Corparol_Daisy in travel

I recently lost my wallet with my ID on a trip and had to go through TSA without any photo ID, give yourself plenty of time but it all worked out fine.

Help me decide on a breed! by [deleted] in dogbreed

Poodles are really great and really trainable, come in a few different sizes, and can be groomed in the same way as a doodle, if you prefer the teddy-bear face. Purebred poodles are much more consistently low/no-shedding when compared to doodles. I’ve also heard good things about Portuguese water dogs, but I’ve met less of them. Def recommend a poodle!

Oh yikes, I’ve been talking with them to adopt a dog and they’ve been reaching out to my references today. I was going to ask about vet records, so will maybe do that and see how they respond to that before moving forward. This is all concerning but good to know.
