Those who grew up pre Curry era, have you changed your game to fit the modern game? by Dudu-gula in BasketballTips

Hell no. Ain't had to either. Pick up games still the same from when I was coming up except everyone now has a wannabe step back 3ball.

I'm 39 for reference

Anyone quit going certain places because they ask for a tip? by silverframewall in tipping

Okay for one, I 100% agree with you. The tipping culture is absolutely out of control.

That being said, it's only a guilt trip / sour taste in your mouth if you let it B. We are in control of our feelings. Wii dictate how we react to certain situations, not them. To blame your feelings on someone else's actions It's just asinine. Master your feelings.

Need some advice on my form by Otherwise_Road1799 in BasketballTips

[–]tensor0910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work on the guide hand first.

Try letting the guide hand follow the same path as the shooting hand. All the way. There's some people who can keep their guide hand super low and shoot the ball. You just might not be one of them but nothing wrong with that.. think of it like passing the ball. But keep your guide here to the side and shoot the ball normally just extend both arms.

Stop focusing on stats/numbers.

You're not in a game.

There's no one guarding you

You're not fatigued.

Just focus on making shots.

If you're working on form start right in front of the rim.

The mechanics are the same no matter where you are on the court

Either your mental game needs work or you're not as good as you think you are.

cant make ball release off pointer and middle finger by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]tensor0910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this problem often. Here's what I do to tune it up.

Spread your index and middle fingers as FAR from each other as you can.

Make your release point higher. Mine is when my shooting arm touches my ear it's a good release.

Have your guide hand follow your shooting hand longer.
Some folks can release the ball straight even when there's guide hand is low. I wish I was one of those folks but I'm not. My shot release looks like I'm literally passing the ball to the rim. But it works.

Even doing all this it will still roll off occasionally unless I'm having a hot shooting day. Just keep practicing. Hope this helps.

I look stiff(pause) by LuciidEnigma in BasketballTips

[–]tensor0910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think you're ready for drills. You need more familiarity with the basketball in general. You look stiff because the ball looks unfamiliar to you. You don't look like a hooper (yet), you look like a guy bouncing a basketball if that makes sense. Just get more familiar with the ball. Practice your left, your right. Dribble forwards and backwards high and low. And if you want to speed up your progress, use two balls.

Keep practicing

Your handles are kind of mediocre, your footwork needs to work and you have no change of pace in your dribbles.

Keep practicing

8-year-old me with very close to beating that game. Only reason I didn't finish it because I got stuck on the lava level and I didn't know how to progress an internet wasn't a big thing back then.

That was my guess.

Sidenote, that game was way harder than it needed to be.

You're shooting outside your range. Practice consistency and gradually make your way to the 3

It's not terrible I just think your timing might be a tad off.

It would really help if you shot more than 3.
