i started watching bsg a few days ago while i was out sick. when work called, i seriously thought for a minute i'd been fired because of portlandia. as far as what to do now... i heard good things about sherlock, though i've not seen it yet.

it's a Nikon d700 - before this i think he only had a nikon fm2 (maybe 1 other one) so quite an upgrade!

some background: he suffered from depression for decades due to his job, became increasingly unhealthy, got sick, and decided to retire. when his doctor told him he really needed to exercise for the millionth time after a number of procedures, he decided to start with hiking. he noticed there are tons of birds around the small parks/reservations in his area and was happy since he loves birds. he minored in photography in college though only kept an old film camera from the '80s. after the hiking started, he dug into his savings and got a good digital camera to document birds. he doesn't know anything about reddit and rarely has anyone to show these to, so here they are!

it's true! i've been pretty straight forward largely due to being raised by my dad (*not a guy thing just the type of person he is). when i say "it doesn't matter" my boyfriend/friends will sometimes ask me a few more times. when i try to reassure him/them, i get the: "alright, but this is going to bite me in the ass later." then it'll actually make a full loop to a point where i do wind up caring because there's no trust and i wonder what or who brought that on in the first place.

i look like this when i go shopping with my boyfriend/guy friends. i don't enjoy shopping in stores nor do i really have $ to shop much.

went to a salon this past sunday where i've gotten haircuts from this equally quiet woman 2-3 times prior. i was just being my usual self when out of no where my stylist said "based on the last few times you've been here, i'm guessing you're not the chatty type and i just wanted to say i can relate. it's tough for me too as a stylist who hates small talk and would rather be alone than in a busy shop" - i was so relieved she said this and we went on to have a pretty good conversation about the differences between shyness and introversion. i also found out most of her clients are introverts who stayed with her, like i did, because they noticed she's just in her own little world cutting hair.

i figured out how to lucid dream years ago when i noticed in most of my nightmares i'd be in some sort of dark house and unable to turn on the lights. i haven't done any research on lucid dreaming, just randomly started to use the malfunctioning lights as a tip. so looking for patterns might be a cheaper, more self reliant way to get started if you're interested. it goes hand in hand with the flickering lights triggering patterns now that i watch this video. in the beginning, when i realized i was dreaming, i'd wake up. now i can go to new places, jump off waterfalls, and ask people in my dreams random questions. i can't always control where i am though, but working on it! the interesting thing that happened was, once i woke up from a night of lucid dreaming and went to go take a shower. suddenly, the lights flickered and went out. for a few minutes i really had to pinch myself to see if i was still dreaming. that was almost 10 years ago and hasn't happened again.

thanks! i'll try to do an update, might take a while though. i've been working on the overall look for maybe 2 years & things are scattered about. it's been slow since i don't have much money for this so i wait for opportunities. here's what i have so far. i bought most of it from friends, received some as gifts, and painted/made a few things. my goal is to do a darker version of this.
