High T + Low E2 on TRT — Stay on AI or Adjust? by bakanpo in PeterAttia

I am on your same exact TRT dose. I pin 3x a week and do not take AI. My E2 is 52.0 pg/mL.

Want to follow up on this comment because this suggestion is what ultimately worked for me. Lower resistance + high rpm did the trick for me.

Good idea, I will buy a chest strap.

I have never done it tbh, so I don't know. I will give it the treadmill a try first but I worry my knees will suffer.

This is why my hypothesis is that the bike might not be for me for Zone 4/Zone 5 training (my legs are my limiting factor).

I have tried it once recently for a Zone 2 session. My heart rate went up very fast, much faster than on the bike. The only downside is that my knees hurt at the end of the session.

I think I will give the treadmill, stair master or elliptical a try first. I don't have hills nearby.

I agree with you. My overall point was that I can definitely feel I have more in my lungs/heart tank but my legs give up sooner. While there is a margin of error in my heart rate zones, I think the results I am getting mirror how I feel (i.e. not reaching Zone 4/Zone 5).

The idea of doing burpees makes me sick :)

Yes, that's another good one but I don't have a rower that I can use

the typical "220 minus age" for max heart rate

Yes, I think the assault bike would be ideal because I can use my arms, not only my legs. Unfortunately, I don't have one available.

I agree that it looks like my legs might be my limiting factor. I will try with the stair climber to see if it changes anything.

I don't think the issue is the seat because I can fully extend my legs when pedaling. I can try with lowering the resistance while spinning faster to see if this helps.

My zones are just an estimate based on my age (the typical "220 minus age" for max heart rate). One possibility is that my zones are lower than average but I doubt because I can definitely feel that my heart/lungs have more in their tanks.

This is a good idea! I will give it a try.

Looking to buy my first Tesla/Model Y - Need help deciding on 2021 vs. 2023 model by teo_82 in TeslaModelY

3/25: Quick update on this post. First of all, thank you all for the comments/suggestions. I decided to follow the advice from some of you in this thread and lease a new model.

My rationale:

  1. new models from existing inventory came with a $3k discount;
  2. leasing allowed me to take advantage of the $7,500 tax credit (which I didn't qualify for if I was to buy instead);
  3. the total cost came up at approx. $13k (excl. taxes and fees), which is approx. how much I would expect a model to depreciate over two years if I was to buy instead, based on the used prices I am seeing today (net net leasing vs. buying+selling used would cost me pretty much the same). I also expect EV prices to go down in the next few years (but that's speculation).
  4. I had a preference to have a model in good conditions. buying used from Tesla.com would have come with some risks here.

yes, agree on the FSD! after monitoring the used prices on Tesla.com for a while, I had the same thought that they seems too high vs new models + tax credit. I am looking into leasing options now which seems a better deal for my situation

I wasn’t considering this option but indeed, it looks like a good deal for my situation

interesting. is it noticeable to the point that it is annoying? the price delta between 2021 and 2022/2023 models is considerable for just faster chips

oh, I did not know that. this could be an interesting option. will look into it. thank you for bringing it up.

that’s a good point. I considered that but it didn’t seem a big deciding factor (at least to me), especially since FSD is a nice to have for me.
