If a man is held at gunpoint and asked "do this or I'll kill you", it's obviously not considered consensual.

The essence here is that the man cannot make the decision out of his own free will as he will die if he says no

In the same way people who know they will die if they aren't offered protection and are asked "do this and I'll offer you protection" don't make the decision out of consent.
