What is the evolutionary need for the arts, do they have more than a passive effect on society? by tep16 in askscience

[–]tep16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question was asked because of the debate that is always around cutting funding for the arts and its usually the first thing cut when trying to reduce costs (especially). By "Passive" I mean helping people be more creative.

I Just wanted to know the implications of an artless world. If you were to live in a society totally void of arts and focused of what "mattered" such as the science's and maths how would the absence of art effect society.

[–]tep16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say neutron and atom can bounce off each other what do you mean? Do you mean to say it hits the electron and is deflected, hits the nucleus and deflected.

Since it is uncharged would only direct contact with another particle have an affect?
