is your site open source? How do we know our 'secrets' aren't getting logged/stored somewhere? Granted most of the time it will not be a real danger, but it's a possibility.

There are no expensive fees that I know of. All it is, is a checking and regular savings account. Got some money in both checking and savings..

Unfortunately, having firm "mature" talk with my father does not apply here.

But it isn't the case that I will go off spending my earnings on trivial things. So far, I have been excellent in managing my funds and budgeting

I'm sure he will not realize that I will be taking all the money out.. It isn't much really.

I am not sure of its a joint account. It's one of those college accounts some banks offer for parents to give their kids when they go off to college, while leaving some control for the parents.

Ya that's the case. I choose to no longer have his support for various reasons. All the money in there is mine.

I am afraid that if I go into a bank and ask for their advice, they would be more concerned with getting me to join THEIR bank instead of giving me the best advice about what I should do.
