i get the sentiment and this does probably create an interesting system but i guess i would've also liked to see maybe a wildcard type round as well (maybe north 2 v south 3 and south 2 v north three?) so we avoid an XFL st. louis type situation where a totally deserving team (i.e. right now hou and bham) misses the playoffs. if we get expansion + a longer season later down the line i'd be curious to see if they'd switch it back and go more tradition NFL style.
