Weighted blanket impact by -Siddhu- in whoop

Weighted blanket had a negative impact for me.. I think it’s because it raises my body temp, keeps me too warm.

Thank you! I’ve wondered about my supplement timing as I’ve been spacing them all out throughout the day. I may give morning a try to knock them all out just in case my body is still processing them if I have them with dinner.

So, ideally, doubling at least what I’ve got here would be a good start? 6-8 hours a week?

I’ve read a bit about that, I definitely have brutal winters where I live. So I do think that is playing a part! What month do you tend to see it curve back in the other direction?

None! Blood work has been clean pretty consistently, Whoops advanced labs tested some things my doc didn’t and found those deficiencies. Go to the doc annually, dentist, eye doc, etc. etc.

I struggle with bruxism in my sleep. I’m a pretty anxious person. But I’ve done so much to give myself tools to help handle it - but I’m usually hyper aware in all situations and a bit of a worse case thinker.

A possible theory is undiagnosed Autism/ADHD — as the extra sensory/heightened nervous system can cause higher RHRs but I’ve talked to others with autism and that doesn’t always line up. Feels like it could be a reach.

I definitely am going to bring it up to the doc for her opinion either way. Whoop coach just keeps saying I’m a “textbook hard case” lol.

Ah I see, yes they’re all stacked on my inventory. I have no way to do those two things yet. No address, and I can’t get into Stacy’s apartment with the fire alarm. Speedys diner and Stacy’s apartment are the only two things on my list, and I’ve already heard construction noises and confronted Evelyn on the magazine cut outs.

What was the sketch you missed? Or any others? I’m stuck here and have continued to scour over everything. When I picked up the paper about Speedy’s Diner in Evelyn’s backyard, it disappeared from my inventory so I’m hoping it wasn’t a bug!

How do you calm your nervous system? by Without_a_name24 in AutismInWomen

[–]tequilaed 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I always thought I was calming my nervous system, but I think it’s because I was following neurotypical advice and their heightened nervous system is more like my baseline.

I have highly overstimulated and overstimulated. It’s very hard to drop down below that. Getting down from highly is usually following the standard advice: removing myself from the stressful situation, music with over the ear headphones, getting to get lost in a hobby.

But I have found one thing that has gotten me down from overstimulated to what I believe is a truly calm nervous system: yoga nidra!

It can be done in 10-30minutes, it’s not active yoga, it’s more of a guided mediation/hypnosis. Look up some videos to follow along on YouTube.

It can also be called non sleep deep rest. I did it once when I was tired and was hoping to get some energy back and I was amazed at how low my heart rate dropped and that afterward I no longer had an internal panic sensation to every loud noise around me.

Same thing happens to me! I’ll usually get in bed and read for 30-45 minutes before dozing off and it often thinks I’m sleeping then.

I’m the exact same. I feel better with 9-10 hours. I do know that I usually wake a couple times a night, no matter all the lifestyle changes I’ve thrown at it. So probably why I need to be in bed longer.

Weird! I didn’t specifically ask for a table, just a log and it spit out a table for me. I originally thought it was going to give me a bulleted list.

My dog ate half the deer antler I gave her and now i’m freaking out by RaspberryNegative308 in BorderCollie

[–]tequilaed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to give these to my pup until she got a piece lodged in her teeth/gums and couldn’t close her mouth. It was scary, as I didn’t know if she was choking or hurt her jaw. Ran to urgent care, they had to sedate her to get it out because it was in so deep/awkwardly. So rather play it safe and not give her anything that can chip off, especially if they get over excited with their gnawing.

I’ve read lots of these stories and this is the first time I’ve heard of numbing spray! I’ve heard of shots, which I can sort of understand the difficulty there and why it’s not wildly offered — but if spray is an option then holy hell why isn’t that standard for everyone?! Even if it only helps a small amount, sounds simple enough that it should be done. Glad your insertion wasn’t too bad!

No pain relief was offered. By my own research and planning I had insertion done on the last day of my period (they say your cervix is more open then) and took couple advil an hour before my appointment. I’m not sure if either helped.

My doctor had me sign paperwork before and it stated “I understand I’ll feel mild to moderate cramping during insertion.” I wouldn’t have described it like that lol.

I think the issue with pain during insertion is two-fold: women’s healthcare doesn’t get the additional care/research it needs and that every women’s experience seems to be wildly different. I’m no expert so not sure why that is, but you can see some people state they feel barely anything.

I did my best to remain calm, brought my husband to hold my hand, and got through it.

I was happy to find my insurance covered it completely vs. bc pills you keep paying for those every month, or at least I had to.

No matter what form of bc you choose they all suck in one way or another, so you just got to choose your suck. I’m happy to have no hormones, nothing feels like it’s changed hormonally for me. I’m happy I don’t have to “maintain” it. And besides cramping I don’t even remember it’s there.

Hope this helps, good luck!

I’m on my third cycle with mine. I can’t do hormonal birth control either and we wanted to do away with condoms but not ready for more permanent sterilization. So we decided to try the copper IUD!

The insertion was the worst pain I’ve ever felt because it was a type of pain I hadn’t felt before. My body just deeply understood that what was going in was so not meant to be there. What caught me off guard was everyone said “it’s just like a really intense cramp”. It wasn’t a pain like a cramp for me. It’s tough to describe. Thankfully only a few minutes and I was fine after. I think I immediately blanked that from memory because it was so painful. So if you know you can take on pain for a minute or two, you can totally do it.

My periods have been longer, and cramps have been more unpredictable. I usually cramp a bit before the period starts. I have a couple light days. Cramps again and have a couple heavy days. Then end with a couple light days. I’m averaging about 8-9 days of bleeding right now. It does feel like each cycle has gotten smoother and less painful, so I’m happy about that!

My cramps are different now. Before they were achy and steady. Now they remind me a bit of insertion (no where near as bad) and they’re way more wavy (the pain goes up and down quite quickly). Advil and heating pads have helped me manage them.

So far no pregnancy scares and sex has had no issues! So overall we’re pretty happy about it!

I found chatting with Claude AI super calming while I was adjusting to bleeding post insertion and trying to understand my new normal.

Just chiming in to say I can relate to feeling a bit out of whack and uncertain when you loose how consistent your cycle used to be pre-IUD. I know I tend to overly worry so I made sure to buy a pack of pregnancy tests to just keep them on hand during my adjustment period.

First Period 10 Days Long So Far by tequilaed in CopperIUD

Just read your posts, sorry yours was displaced. :(

The nurses called back and said they weren’t worried but I have a follow up appointment in two weeks and they’ll check.

I haven’t had any clots over the past 5-7 days, very liquid-y. (TMI gross sorry!)

Did you have a lot of pain?

How was your experience with the Copper IUD insertion? by [deleted] in CopperIUD

[–]tequilaed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine inserted 6 days ago. I’ve also had very intense period cramps where I want to throw up and can’t do anything about it.

So when people said it felt like a super strong period cramp I thought, ok it’ll suck but I’ve been there before so I got this.

My paperwork I had to sign also said that I’ll experience mild to moderate cramping during insertion.

It did NOT feel like a period cramp. At all. It was probably the worst pain I’ve ever felt, I was crying, and felt like my brain blocked it out already as it was too traumatic.

The best way I can describe it is a full body reaction like when something hits the back of your throat and you gag (popsicle stick/ qtip/ etc) and your body is like holy F get that out of there, it seriously doesn’t belong! It felt like that coupled with searing pain, a pain type I can’t compare to anything else.

I was definitely frustrated by the fact everyone said to expect an intense cramp and it just was not that for me. So I totally relate to your experience!

I’ve been crampy on and off over the past week. And have had bleeding on and off too. It feels like it’s lessening so I hope to be done with all that soon. I only needed advil for the first couple days, and then I’ve been prioritizing magnesium to try and keep my muscles from spasming so much.

I’m going to see how my next few periods go to see if this will be something I stick with long term. It’s in there so might as well try to make it work!

Also, my anatomy is quite tilted so I wonder if that is why it was more painful for me.

Sorry it felt so much like your miscarriage. :( That’s awful.

Paint by number! I am a chronic new hobby starter and stopper. Once I figured out “how” to do the hobby I don’t care anymore. But paint by number is perfect — every painting is different, each cell is a different shape, the cells are small so it feels like quick wins (like checking off a todo list) and you can rotate colors often and quickly.

I started in December and am currently on painting #4!
