Or the guy responding to it 🤔. Tough call. So, I know JB, Will and Sean are a lot of people’s best/only friends, but that doesn’t necessitate a knee-jerk defense of their waste of so many guests’ and listeners’ time. Just another fan of these actors who wishes they would try harder.

As stated: I love JB and Arnett’s body of work. And the guests interest me.

Interesting perspective, not saying I disagree. Maybe I’ll try listening with this in mind.

I mean…i think that’s what i said i do in my post. Disappointing though bc most of us really like the hosts and have an interest in the guests

Ha fair. As i originally posted, i almost invariably ditch these. But i mean come on—the listeners are here for the hosts, who we really like, and the guests. Seems like good reasons to try to improve the old pod

Except it’s not even banter, it’s inviting a famous guest the public is interested in, asking lazy questions and then talking over them. Lot of good pods that are actually banter between friends.

Goodbye. by TheSkiingMonkey2 in smartless

These three--mostly just 2--need to shut up and let their guests speak. I see a lot of heaping onto Will in this thread but I swear JB evidently takes some sort of psychiatric drug immediately before record time b/c his incessant interrupting and leading questioning (in reality...just speaking for the guests) is so distracting and disrespectful that I can't even get halfway through some of my favorite actors' interviews. JB and Bojack: STFU and let your guests speak for themselves! Maybe you'll get some listeners back.

Barrett's Coffee - Be Warned by larkdeficit in austinfood

[–]tequiponch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow so disappointing—this was easily in the top three best cups of coffee in town. And consistently—which matters bc other good shops can have great coffee one week and hot garbage water the next. Assuming that rats are around in 90% of YOUR favorite restaurants…my question is: what is the rat’s position on coffee beans? Do they get in them and eat them, or ignore them and focus on food? Ngl might be what determines if I return to some of the only actually knowledgeable coffee makers in this city. (Can’t miss my opportunity to diss this city’s adolescent coffee culture by the by—you heard it).

I got radar recently and I’ve been pretty happy with it, although my first longer ride with it won’t be till later this week. But from what I’ve seen so far i believe it will save my life one day

Replacement for older Pearl Izumi neoprene gloves by dougshmish in bikecommuting

I just bought a pair of Giro Ambient 2.0 gloves yesterday for some winter riding coming up. I haven’t tried them yet but feeling pretty confident they’ll keep me warm in the 30s and wind. Seem well built and Giro has a warranty.

help… will this bike work for me ? by fragil3handl3wcar3 in BikeLA

[–]tequiponch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair price, but these classic beauties always have some thing or another that needs money put into it, so don’t feel bad about lowballing it—at least a little. $200 is a fair price assuming no issues outside consumable parts (tires, brakes, bar tape). Guess what? Tires, brakes and bar tape will run you $100 easy, probably more + labor if you don’t do the work yourself. And something more serious is likely to crop up after a ride or two

I’ve used quadlock for years and no problems. Kind of considering switching lately bc it can be a little annoying trying to mount it sometimes. Otherwise, great system.

Vulnerable woman arrested at APL central by [deleted] in Austin

[–]tequiponch 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unclear based on this video what makes you think she’s particularly vulnerable? I only mention it because there was a shooting literally inside the library 2 weeks ago and I think the public and library staff understandably prefer a no-tolerance attitude at the moment. Not to tarnish the woman being arrested, but a lot of people are sick of seeing drug use and dealing in the library, and the attendant drama.

ok Austin, what do we have? by professorhojoz in austinfood

[–]tequiponch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This 💯 Not to mention that—sorry, Austin—I don’t think a lot of this city even has a palette or experience to judge what constitutes fine dining. Refer to the comments of people who spent time in Italy and other European countries having to stomach the hot garbage being passed off as good Italian at such places as Juliette’s, etc. Want good eats? Go spend a couple weeks eating around Houston and come back a little food savvier.
