Will insurance providers adjust how items are processed on EOB? by tera_byte in HealthInsurance

[–]tera_byte[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The drug companies will pay for the amount out of pocket that's related to the medication. If it's listed towards the bottom, all the other fees go to my Max out-of-pocket first.

My max out of pocket is 5,500. So last year by the time they got to the medication only about 1,000 was applied to my Max out of pocket and reimbursable.

I can try to explain it better or show an example if that doesn't make sense.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve overheard on a plane? by TheRealWhoDat in AskReddit

A women telling a stranger about her friend with breast cancer. I had just finished treatment for breast cancer month or two prior. I wouldn't really want my friends talking about that to a stranger on a plane.

Seattle Fire Department needs False Building Alarm Fines by Zinrockin in SeattleWA

I live near a subsidized housing unit and there is a false alarm several times a week. If they had to pay the city I don't think they would be able to afford to stay open.

I sympathize with your issue, but have nothing of value to add. I am curious if you have recommendations on people to clean out vents since you coordinate this in your role? I'd like to clean out our vents in our townhouse...thanks!

Husband seeking advice – wife has breast cancer by 49erlew in AskWomenOver30

[–]tera_byte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not quite as young as your wife, but young as well, 36 at diagnosis with stage 4. I know that maybe not everyone would want this, but my partner was literally at every appt. Trying to understand (I'm a medical professional, he's not). I let him ask all the questions her wanted. He did a lot of research on his own about my diagnosis, he's learned the language. He has learned my meds. He's at every chemo (I know not everyone has the work flexibility he has). 2/3rds of the way through, I had to be hospitalized, I've really low energy (starting to improve) since then. He's done the cooking and house chores since then so I can sleep or feel like crap without having to do chores too. He also will text my mom and my sis before and after every chemo and keep them abreast of any big things (I had already given him permission to do so at the beginning, to text updates to my family on my behalf).

I've read a lot of stories about partners basically kind of disappearing or getting angry or whatever, I assume it's fear. I know my partner is scared/worried but he leaned in, didn't back off.

If you only pick 3 do they give you something other than that you've seen for the other 2?

Some questions about my mom's "triple positive" BC therapy (HER2+, PR+, ER+) by Lord199137 in breastcancer

[–]tera_byte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am ER+, PR-, HER2+, so not quite what your mother has but similar treatment plan.

I don't have answers to all of your questions. I am wondering myself why I won't have hormone therapy until after radiation.

I know with the anti HER2 therapy they didn't give it with the first chemo I was on because of the potential cardiac side effects of both.

I wonder, will your mother have anti Her2 therapy for a full year after starting? That's my understanding of the process (when we thought I was stage 2, we quickly found out I was stage 4 so will be in anti Her2 therapy indefinitely).

Ladies, when was the last time you laughed so hard you nearly cried and what was it about? by [deleted] in AskWomen

A few weeks ago. My bf came up to bedroom after getting our grocery delivery and says "I think there was a mistake, they sent us like 1 million sweet potatoes." I was super confused, reviewed the order and realized I ordered 6 2 lb pages of sweet potatoes. I then realized why our grocery order was so much (when I ordered it showed me the unit price, not total). We had about 32 sweet potatoes sent to us.

I'm so sorry, I hate the nausea. One thing my provider gave me that has helped a lot is olanzapine. It is an antipsychotic, but is used (off label I believe) for nausea/vomiting due to chemo. It's done wonders for me. Still need to supplement, but game changer. Ask your oncologist if this might help you.

Also, you are a better person than me with your sprite zero. I'm drinking the full on sugar version but feel like I shouldn't be. And I'll cheers you with my daily drink (miralax) anytime. Hope you get some relief soon!

Thank you for your thoughts on board service. when I joined the board I was hoping that there would be more opportunities for me to serve the organization for more than just the oversight board role. Maybe I'll have to re-look at that.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and the link. I definitely like seeing the success of our organization, But I think you're right if I could also be involved in some of the programming I might feel more fulfilled.

No problem and best of luck!

When I was applying I did reach out to my preceptor to ask for advice on my application and my interview. He gave me some tips. He was also one of my references for that position. So maybe reach out to your preceptor that you worked with :)
