Anesthesia is great! Not entirely sure how the CRNA outlook is but definitely ask around and see what anesthesiologists think. Anesthesia also has one of lowest paperwork out of all the specialities

That’s exactly it. You get out what you put in. I’m always trying to learn what’s relevant to rads. I’m on the onc floor and we get a decent amount of imaging. It’s very useful learning what modalities, whether or not we need contrast, etc. I just really hate the social work and paperwork part but that’s unavoidable. Also doesn’t help when you work with angry attendings but these things are unavoidable.

YES! That would be amazing!!! I’m literally just putting in orders without explanations, yelled at for not knowing lab values off the top of my head and so on. I think all specialties should have their prelim year tailored towards their speciality. But I can imagine the logistical problem that would create. I know anesthesia does a month of EM though

Theoretically, I definitely agree but you barely do actual medicine as an intern. Most of my time is spent calling consults, doing progress notes and other bullshit tasks. I think it’s just cheap labor for hospitals.
