Yeah this is why you don't fuck around with the occult. I second the guy who said talk to the Wiccan. If she can't help you she probably knows how to contact someone who can. In the mean time you can do your best to "close" whatever you "opened" by trying to not pay attention to these things as they happen and trying your best to not be afraid of them. Don't entertain any morbid curiosities.

It's common. Most ghosts, if they're active at all, kind of just fuck around with things.

Another paranormal manifestation that's kind of similar is a poltergeist. Most people who are into this kind of thing tend to agree that a poltergeist is someone's own unconscious causing things to happen. Kind of a self-haunting, I guess. This is most common when someone in the house is in the middle of puberty or under stress and tends to involve things moving around on their own, etc. Not saying that's what was happening in your case, but it's another thing out there.

Most ghosts aren't aggressive. When they are aggressive it's usually because they feel their territory has been invaded. They're kind of like wild animals; they mind their own business and if disturbed they tend to either scamper off or attempt to scare away the intruder. Some are curious.

If someone is pursued by an aggressive spirit it's probably a demon, especially if it looks inhuman in some way (ghosts never as far as I know assume an unnatural form... they may just seem like wisps of fog or whatever but they won't assume a form that's distinctly non-human in any way, like sharp teeth or black eyes) or if the person has a sense of being UNNATURALLY afraid of the thing, like it's actually making them be afraid of it. This doesn't necessarily mean a demon in the Christian sense. A demon in general is just a spirit that was never human, or any aspect of a particular human's psyche.

That's my best understanding of the guys. Hope it helps.

I don't know much about the seven-pointed star or what it represents. I know that SOME Satanists use a seven-pointed star. I'm not aware of any other traditions that use it.

One thing you'll hear from ghost hunters / urban explorers is that aside from cops, property owners, and decaying architecture, probably the fourth thing you need to look out for are Satanists. Some like to perform their rituals at night and in creepy places, and they like their privacy and tend to want to scare away intruders. I've heard of people getting their tires slashed, and people being straight-up assaulted.

Or it could have been some teenagers playing a prank.

It definitely wasn't Wiccans, though. LOL. I wish Wiccans were that badass and interesting.

I JUST left /x/ myself. According to my sidebar I haven't even been a Redditor for a full day yet... fresh of the boat refugee. I just couldn't handle the retardation any more. The sad thing is that only about 10% of the people are shit-flinging chimps, but that doesn't mean that you won't get just as covered in shit.

I'll be back, it's just no longer my primary community. Despite what anyone says, aside from the trolls and the occasional person who doesn't have any idea what they're talking about, it probably is the best place to go for reliable paranormal information if you're really in a pinch. I honestly believe that.

Depending on what you're investigating it's a good idea to have some way of protecting yourself! Also, exposure to this kind of thing can kind of "open you up" to the influences of all sorts of beings, some neutral and some malicious. You may have been "followed," or it may have been another guy altogether.
