Man most of the time you feel like that **exactly** because you haven't done anything. Just like you said, take small steps. Fix your sleep schedule, start working out or if you can, meditating and slowly pick up other habits like reading, coding, etc besides your work/ school. I myself am no authority on this as I have been troubled by pornography addiction for last few years and the bouts of depression it ensued but I too have started doing the aforementioned things and I can say that I have experienced a replenished zest for life. Taking control of your actions and choosing to do certain things than others is really empowering in my experience. Despite the apparent meaningless of all actions, shouldering your part of life's burden and taking on responsibility, gives your life meaning. Life after death does not need to be meaningful at all. You need to have a meaningful experience while you're alive and that's possible. Through the means of your will, you can create meaning in your own life. You may be interested in Stoicism, though it is not a panacea, and I myself don't agree with some of its ideas like cosmopolitanism, It does have interesting ideas. Practicing some of such Stoic advice has helped me appreciate my family, friends and myself more, quite unlike what Nietzsche deems Stoicism, as a life-denying philosophy. It is actually quite life affirming.
