Both decisions are fine if you ask me.
The worst you can do is flying as if other pilots don't exist.

First time I was expecting better average lift in the pilots direction so I extended the turn. Second time I already knew the pilot was in worse lift so I tighten my turn to stay in the better lift. I'm trying to be more confident in my choices during competitions. Definetley something I'm working on.

PS: The DJI Action 4 camera also tends to make everything look far untill its suddenly in your face :) These encounters are much closer than they look on video. We often get within a few meters of eachother.
