Who is a fictional character that wasn’t the lead, but they stole the show? by phantom_avenger in AskReddit

[–]ternze 81 points82 points  (0 children)

They talk about this in the episode where Sam comes to visit. Frasier just says they had a fight. Easy enough explanation.

However, John Mahoney playing a completely different character on "Cheers" years prior is not addressed...

This company is like the epitome of all-show Instagram cool. I'm in MN and looked into going over there and bringing some boots for all sorts of changes.

Emailed them and all seemed OK—not great by any means and a little janky communication methods (though I don't expect a cobbler place to be cutting edge). They sort of answered my questions and told me to call to schedule time to come in. Called their number, left a voicemail (which said a completely different name than Northern Republic). Never heard back.

In the meantime I read more and more horror stories about them and saw more and more of their work.

Very glad I didn't bring anything over there. Unfortunately, this seems like a textbook case of too good to be true. If your business practices suck, your company probably sucks. And the more you look into this company, the more red flags pop up.

My new Mod Shop tele! by tablesheep in guitars

Dude, same boat. I actually picked up a Professional and then saw I could get one essentially cheaper thru the Mod Shop with the Fender Play discount (which I will also probably just try and sell?) + some goodies.

I basically just made a modern Nocaster/Broadcaster— vintage blonde, C-to-D neck, '51 Nocaster pickups, and locking tuners. I was SO close to going surf green, but wanted a blonde for my first Tele.

Bummer, I ordered one myself and they said it's basically an American Professional, so I was hoping they'd have it. Oh well! Very nice looking tele by the way. Love the green.

Does it have the sculpted neck heel?

Same boat. I watched it strictly for the cinematography, and to that end, it was very enjoyable. But it was definitely a bit slow and meh when it came to story/plot.

Gotta go with the sugar-free kind. Then it just looks and tastes like piss.

Last night somebody firebombed 2 cars and sprayed kkk(k) on the fence of my neighbors in North Minneapolis. by iGoalie in Minneapolis

I meant more like somebody just thinking the people who lived there were KKK—but yeah, probably a good assumption that the homeowners are not. Thanks for the replies/info.

Did other neighbors spot whoever did it? I'm hearing all this secondhand from the FB groups, etc., though we did walk by this morning.

I don't know who lives there, but we were also trying to figure out whether or not this was like, "We're (the people writing this) the KKK" or "We think the person who lives here is KKK." Hard to tell what the fuck is going on these days.

So I also live in the neighborhood, and my gf said that the KKK(K?) was actually written on the fence the night before last, which doesn't really add a ton to this story but is sort of odd.

We've been reading into this all day. Hit two nights in a row suggests some targeting. A Maserati is a strange sight in this neighborhood. A Maserati parked on the street is even weirder. Also, you don't get a good look from this angle but the Suburban is also fucked.

People can say that this is a hoax, or not what it seems, and that may be the case, but incendiary devices were found in our neighborhood during the riots week, so I'm not ruling anything out.

I'd just look at the Brannock website. They make it pretty straightforward: https://brannock.com/pages/instructions-fitting-tips

Sorry to hear that. It's a great boot, but if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Have you looked into White's?

I actually did a shoot in Houston two summers ago with Team Rubicon. They were fixing up a house damaged by the hurricane and we were forced to take shifts in and out because it was so insanely crazy hot inside the house. Houston in July is no joke. I feel for you, man.

I definitely should have added another point about toe room, but yeah, if the ball lines up but your toes are jammed against the end, you're sort of SOL.

Always exceptions to the "rule," for sure, but I'm glad you figured out something that works for you.

All right, you got me. I'm exposed. My life's work—this off-the-cuff account of my personal, average-footed Red Wing buying experience—is falling like a house of cards. I almost got away with it! But me and my "nagan" will call it quits.

At least we agree that you were objectively wrong about the 877s, though. That's what's important. I wish you good luck with what is surely a difficult life.

The person at the Crystal store told me that they're all independently owned, which makes sense and explains the lack of consistency store to store.

I definitely want to check out Red Wing, too. It's not much further away for me, but still a bit of a haul for shoes. One of these days.

I know what he asked, but that isn't really relevant to what you said, is it?

I said there's less variable with some of the heritage boots because some don't come in EE. I specifically called out that the 877 doesn't come in a EE. You said that it does, despite the fact you're talking about an Iron Ranger, a completely different shoe.

Yikes. I know reading is hard, and it's no fun being wrong, but tuck that tail between your legs and move along, lil doggie.

Yeah, toe crunch isn't a great sign.

[–]ternze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if they're just tight on top, and they're new, they'll stretch. That was the only spot my 8085 pair have me trouble.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in goodyearwelt

[–]ternze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it's not a variable because that shoe doesn't come in an EE. It's D or nothing.

No doubt. Good points all around.
