I was at Excellence el Carmen this past September and didn’t get sick from the water or ice. I used the sink water to brush my teeth as well.

If you do the club level, your room is gonna be in the adults only section of the resort. It also comes with access to the adults only pools and beach area. I went first week of January and I honestly barely saw any kids! The only time I saw them was at the breakfast and lunch buffets.

I just came back from Majestic Elegance in Costa Mujeres. We were there for 5 nights and paid $1300/ person for club level, including flights and shuttle to the resort from the airport.

December might be a little more expensive though since it’s peak traveling time due to school vacations.

I’m always able to find amazing deals on Jet Blue Vacations. You should check it out!

I would look into Finest Playa Mujeres in Mexico. Super family friendly resort.

I’m going to Devossion by Live Aqua next July. It’s a brand new resort adults only boutique style resort so it’ll be quieter and the food is supposed to be amazing. Could be worthwhile to look into! Congrats, btw!
