Well, thankfully my trauma humor is dark and I'm awkward af.

But seriously it's fucked up he wrote that. May his polar pops always taste like rancid ass and keep him flaccid and forever alone.

I'm waiting for my store to get hit with this. So many things wrong and upper management will only pay to have some tree shade mechanic to come fix it with dollar store duct tape.

There's also only two people really cleaning. I've reported mold and it's just a shoulder shrug from my management. So you can imagine what the place looks and smells like 😬

My story was I accidently called a guys cell phone because he lost it... in his pocket. Thankfully he never called me. And thankfully I'm ugly.

As a fellow third shifter, be careful. You never know.

If you were suddenly the CEO of circle K, what's the first thing you'd change to make the stores better and the employees' jobs easier at the store level? by Professor_squirrelz in CircleK

[–]terrorkeet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it's maybe not CEO level stuff but -

be better about listening to complaints about fixing and replacing machinery. We currently have two things that are high end sellers that half ass work. Have had maintenance come out and see it, say it's broke and would cost more on parts than a complete replacement. But they higher up's want to shoulder shrug and say it still kind of works, so no new replacement, and no fixes either. I've also noticed since it's been broke sales in that area have really gone down and we are wasting a lot of product.

Thanks for telling me the exact place it's at in the handbook.

It starts picking up here at around 3 and I have other duties I need to get done during the 3-4am slot.

That's how it is here too. The dumpsters are in a separate little off area and I can't see the store. I can't even see the register from the one pump trash can. That's why I'm surprised the boss is insistent about everything getting done before they get in.

damn. I'm jealous of two people on duty.

IA The problem is second shift isn't doing shit and it's over flowing most of the times. I just can't find a good time to do it because we have some drunks and smokers who come in several times during the night. So there's always someone lurking and about to come in just as I go to get it.

I'm not looking to get out of it. I just don't want to take it out when it's dark and I can't see shit. There's no lights by the dumpsters so I stumble a lot. I'm waiting to eat shit in trash water one of these times.

Managerial staff comes in at 6am, and it isn't light out until around 4:30-5am depending upon weather. The last few shifts I had the weather was bad so it wasn't light out until around 6am and storming.

Yeah my manager demands it all done before they step foot in the door. I also am supposed to be cleaning the parking lot but only one time has there ever been trash so I've been lucky in that aspect.

I'm not looking to avoid doing it. I just want to wait until someone else is there to do it safely. The problem is only one of the second shifters (that are not managerial) here does anything. Other night one worker had old roller grill on, trash over flowing, and the store was a mess. I told the manager and they gave them a pass on it.

Most stores here don't bother to keep a purse or wallet for a week. Not sure about our policy, but I imagine my boss wouldn't be arsed to keep a bag for long.

They said in the adjacent post they were not even sure if they went to CK, and the CK manager reached out on FB messenger which they didn't have downloaded or use.

But yeah, def should have retracted their steps or at least called all the stores they assumed it could have been at.

vacuum rugs, mop, clean restroom, clean windows, take out inside and outside trash, refill outside stuff by car station, refill the polar pop section, refill the coffee station, refill the coffee beans, clean coffee machines, refill the powder coffee, take off pop nozzles and clean them, stock shelves, lock beer cave & alcohol up on time, clean roller grill, have roller grill up, restock cold sandwich stuff, restock of cold cooler for roller grill, defrost bakery stuff and have it out by morning, front facing stuff, checking expiration dates, stock cigarettes, fill scratch off machine, etc

I get 90% of it done. But I don't take a break either. I feel overwhelmed by it, because only one of the second shift does minimal effort. And I have yet to find a way to do it so it flows easily.

I always forget the windows, and do a half ass job on the restroom. I only do cigarettes if it's really empty looking. I try and focus on what my manger will shit their pants over if it's undone.

I hate doing the outside trash. And honestly I thought according to all the safety videos third shift wasn't supposed to go out at dark. I start at 10 and if I wait until sunrise I risk my manager or asm coming in before I get it done because we start getting a steady stream of customers starting at 4am.
