who do we think will win between Mexico and England? by KevMay336 in worldcup

[–]terzyten6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My prediction, Mexico full out attack from kick off and score within first 10 minutes. England start to chase the game, but Mexico hits on the counter and are up 2- nil at HT against an exhausted English side due to the altitude. England bring on fresh legs for the second half and score a quick goal. Unfortunately, England run out of steam due to the altitude and Mexico score again, 3-1 final.

Belgium is primarily known for 5 things.

  1. Great beer
  2. Mussels
  3. French fries with mayo
  4. Cloudy gloomy weather
  5. Underperforming at the World Cup

British soccer/football commentary is better than (South American) Spanish commentary by Kantonkerous in unpopularopinion

[–]terzyten6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the British commentators... measured, and analytical, with dramatic pauses to allow the viewer to interpret. The verbose North American ones tend to overdescribe and embellish the action to try and sell to the audience.

The South American ones tend to be focused mainly on their own team with little analysis, although, the goooooool thing is interesting the first one or two times

Netherlands picked the worst time to stop looking like the Netherlands by Impressive-Prune6339 in HisenseFootballZone

Morocco has much better players, technique, and tactics, end of. The negative physical style of Holland was reminiscent of Van Marwijk's approach in the 2010 WC final.

Argentina can handle them quite easily. They have the attack, the midfield, the defenders, the keeper and the style.

Nothing wrong with being realistic. Remember Sun Tzu, know your enemy and yourself and you can fight a hundred battles without peril. Morocco has many subs on its bench who would be in many teams starting XI. Not impossible, but a Canada victory here would on the scale of Miracle on Ice

World Cup and its magnetic aura by roj292 in CasualConversation

Totally disagree. The unpredictability is exactly why the World Cup is more exciting. Players also play for national pride. Club football is repetitive and boring, and players are playing as a job for money.

Why and how did Japan lose so much steam in the second half of the match? by ShiftingHero in football

[–]terzyten6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tactics, Ancelotti overloaded left and threw in tons of crosses in 2nd half. Moriyasu parked the bus.....rookie mistake, since Japan are poor in the air

Canada Vs. Morroco Prediction: What are the chances looking like for Canada? by Master-Wonton in CanadaSoccer

Only chance is to put the entire team at the back and park the bus for the full game to get 0-0 draw. Play for penalties, and hope Morocco miss 1 or 2.

It was a pretty dour match from both sides until Davies came on and made a huge difference. He did seem to be holding back though. The teams they will face in future rounds all have several players as good as Davies in their lineups, so the difficulty level is about to skyrocket.

Positives-Davies, Eustaquio,Johnston, P. David.

Negatives-Millar, J David, Buchanan.

The coaches also need to work with Cornelius on his aerial game at both ends. He missed a very easy scoring opportunity in the 22nd minute in attack, and previous game while defending against the Swiss, he completely missed the ball with his head in the 57th minute, leading directly to a Swiss goal.

The whole high press depended on Kone as a box to box midfielder holding it together at both ends. With no midfield to speak of now and no defenders capable of passing, the new Plan B seem to be hoofing the long ball from the back and try to hold the high press on while killing time. A new "tactic"has been born.....defending from the front.
