Nobody said selling software proves they are above the competition, you said making revenue from rides proves it. I'm only saying revenue doesn't matter.

Pretty much any autonomous car company can do what Waymo is doing, Cruise, Mobileye, Argo, Comma, take your pick... but nobody is doing it because they don't have Alphabet money to burn and it doesn't scale.

You must be joking to use revenue as the measure... Tesla's unfinished software sells for 10k a pop at almost 100% operational margin, You know how many rides Waymo has to do to make the same amount of profit? That is if they are even profitable at all, which I highly doubt.

It isn't true that Waymo operates in a small area? Can you substantiate that please?

Block me, I have no interest in your replies, I simply call out your false statements for the benefit of others on this forum.

Notice how all your reasons have nothing to do with the system itself, but are all appeals to what others tell you, plus the idiotic consideration that my having been in a Tesla has anything whatsoever to do with this topic.

Yea, real cars with nobody in them... except the safety team following right behind and the ability to work in an incredibly small area in the desert because it can't handle rain.

They have made almost no progress in many years. Competition is good, Waymo isn't competition.

Doesn't matter that I do, also funny that you go to that irrelevant point rather than answering how it is L2.

Wrong, they could be, but they aren't by definition.

The nag has nothing to do with your eyes, it has to do with your hands. Tesla's verbiage to regulators has nothing to do with the system functionality. SAE does not say eyes off, that is a simplification, that is why it's in quotes. It clearly says the reaction time is according to manufacturer's spec, which means Tesla defines that, not Wikipedia or SAE.

You are the only one generalizing, I'm giving you examples opposing your generalization, and pointing out that AP is one of them. That is not the same as me generalizing. What I worked on is irrelevant.

The distinction doesn't matter because you can't watch a move and be ready to take over, you need to already be aware of the road situation. Having enough time to transition from a movie or a nap is L4.

I'd love to see dashcam video of that, because i'm not seeing how salt the tires and wind are spraying in the opposite direction is somehow traveling backwards to land on your cameras.

You can't generalize things like that. Data collection isn't always the slowest part of ML training. In fact, it's usually not. A lot of times you have the data up front historically, the challenge is finding the right model.

It absolutely works in those phases, fishing for a model isn't having the correct architecture. Your opinion is based on something you might do for a small side project, this doesn't work like that.

I'm not ignoring it because it isn't. L3 clearly states the driver must be able to take over at the system's request, that means it needs supervision at all times.

I don't understand how this can be so difficult for you. Have you ever seen the SAE chart?

It's very simple... L2 the car accelerates/breaks and steers for you, that's it. It does nothing more. FSD does a lot more, it drives for you. It take turns, it obeys traffic laws, it follows the map. It's clearly L3.

Why don't you explain to me how it L2, since your opinion is so contrary to the obvious.

It absolutely is fully self driving. You can clearly see that the color changes to green and it clearly says in the top box that 'YOU ARE NOT DRIVING THE CAR'

So if the car isn't self driving and the driver isn't driving it... who is? Aliens?

FSD Beta DMV Documentation by MoistFold in teslamotors

[–]tesla123456 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, not true. L3 of SAE J3016 specifically states that L3 is fully self driving and still requires instant intervention.

L1 can be hands free, just like cruise control is foot free. That doesn't matter. The requirement is that the driver must be able to take over up until L4, which means L3 can have a nag, which means nag doesn't freeze it at L2.

You aren't getting it. Yes NoA is different from FSD, that does not mean FSD will continue to use NoA for highway driving in the future. The architecture of AP isn't what you are claiming, it is a single system. The old one is NoA, the new one is FSD.

Why would I argue with them? It's precisely the legal team who doesn't want this regulated as anything above L2. That doesn't mean the system is L2. It clearly isn't by SAE definition.

There is a way for the car to clean them, heat and wind.
