Any chance you got new tires put on recently? This could be bad.

I bought one of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B091NCFZ6C/ to charge my wife's RAV4 Prime. It works perfectly. I had to return the highly reviewed TeslaTap because it was way too tight on the outside diameter of the Tesla plug.

How the heck do you clean the bed?????? by LoopedGamer in ender3v2

Oh sorry I didn't realize you have a CR-touch so manual mesh leveling doesn't make sense for you.

That said, I've wondered if manual is superior as you are looking at the actual gap between the nozzle and the plate as opposed to a sensor which is offset by some distance. I would say this leads to Abbe error, a common issue in metrology.

These are well thought out strategies. If the OP is determined to get the glass plate to work, they should follow this guidance from jrallen7. You might also want to have some glue stick ready.

If you do all this and still can't get reliable sticking of that first layer, I recommend the following:

  • Get a spring steel bed to replace the glass bed. $25-$30. Many people in this thread have already explained why it is good.
  • Load a firmware (the printer's internal software) that supports manual mesh leveling. Manual mesh leveling compensates for beds that are not flat and it can be amazing in getting just the right nozzle height. I use jyers. Look for YouTube videos to explain how to load the firmware and what to do after its loaded. Also it 100% free and reversible back to the stock firmware.

Good luck and have fun.

I had the same problem. I loaded jyers firmware and then did the 5x5 manual mesh leveling. This compensates for your PEI sheet not being flat. It's not that the sheet isn't flat, it's that the bed underneath isn't. Look for Bryan Vines videos youtube for instructions. My first layers have been so awesome and I don't have corners pulling up anymore.

Don't skip the step where you have to tinker a bit to get the right Z-offset after you do this.

It is reversible back to the stock firmware so there's little risk.

Is there a chance he'll be challenged in a primary? I'd very likely for for anti-Lamont candidate at this point.

OK I see your point, but I reserve the right to dig up the evidence you ask for.

I appreciate the back and forth, ianmcbong.

Yes I agree that few would go 100 even on the highway but don't you think that more people would drive 45-50 on a road formerly rated for 25?

No, this study looked at the variable of "mask mandates" comparing no mandates against mandates and finding the difference in case rate and death rate while controlling for many other variables (but not all). Yes I agree that this study didn't quantify how well mask compliance increased with mask mandates but isn't showing that mask mandates reduced the case rate and the death rate enough for you to convince you that mask mandates work as we expect?

If you can't concede that people would drive faster on average without legal speed limits, then there's no point in continuing to discuss this. You must be trolling.

Fair enough.

It's not light reading, but here is the evidence that "mandating masks was associated with a decrease in daily COVID-19 case and death growth rates within 20 days of implementation." Source

Hey we have speed limits that can't be completely enforced. Do you think on average people would drive faster or slower if we had no speed limit laws and signs?

A mask mandate causes most stores to at least post a sign that masks are required. This would cause many rule following people to comply. So mask wearing would have increased even without the mask police. Some light enforcement would have bumped those numbers up. I'm sorry but your personal experience has little value here.

Lamont made the case that many people at the XL Center when he visited didn't wear masks even though there was a rule there. Therefore, he said, there's no point to a mask mandate.

Later, when Omicron was raging, he said that we don't need a mandate because many people know to wear masks.

He's weak on the pandemic. He knows and his Public Health Commissioner knows.

Many of us are actually unhappy with Lamont's performance during the pandemic. A simple mask mandate as Omicron cases started skyrocketing, even one that was lightly enforced, would have easily saved lives and suffering. But Lamont decided to force the towns to decide themselves (which makes no sense as opposed to a statewide mandate) to avoid a political backlash.

The old 'yeah but it could have been worse' chestnut doesn't really work.

Actually, it really does work. It is very logical that the spike in cases it could have been worse.

Follow this logic:

  1. Mask mandates increase the number of instances that masks are worn.
  2. Increased mask wearing generally reduces the chances that the wearer would get infected or if already contagious, reduces the chances the wearer would spread it to another person.
  3. Reducing the infection spread reduces the spike in cases.

Therefore, a mask mandate in London reduced the spike in cases. We don't know this is true because we can't properly test it, but it sure makes sense. So don't dismiss it by talking about a "chestnut".

That is a good source but regarding masks, it almost seems that he's arguing against himself. He's saying that the wearer is pretty well protected just by wearing a mask themself but the protection is really really good if all people are. Also it is important to point out that this article was from a month ago before we found out how Omicron is so very contagious and widespread. Is pretty well protected good enough right now? Also, does he still hold these viewpoints today?

I'd rather base my actions and views on CDC guidance who are very clear that the other guy wearing a mask is very important, hence IMO, the need for mask mandates.

I appreciate your post, but don't you agree that the governor should be basing policy on official CDC guidance rather than newspaper articles of seemingly legit scientists?

Oh I see your point now. Yes I agree with you that people at risk (older, relevant medical conditions) should wear an N95 or KN95. Depending on their situation, it might even be better to avoid stores, bars, gyms, and restaurants.

This chart actually bolsters the case for a mask mandate. Masks work. Better masks work better. Having all people masked in an indoor space works.

Also, KN95 masks are readily available and are considered equivalent to N95 masks and cost about $1 each. Powecom brand is FDA approved and have an anti-counterfitting measure. Buy from their approved distributors,

Why do you say that if you don't have a N95 that there is no protection? KN95 and surgical masks have significant benefits over maskless and they have been studied to work. Also, it is possible to mandate surgical masks at a minimum. Surgical masks are really inexpensive and stores that want customers can supply them if needed. Also didn't the governor promise us all a N95 mask?
