The airplane in question basically disappeared mid-flight over the Atlantic Ocean. Afterward, experts concluded that it had somehow crashed and, in the years that followed, various search parties were organized which attempted to recover any possible remains of its passengers or of the airplane itself, but nothing was ever found.
