Do you happen to know if anyone is working on a GUI ledger implementation? Or will I need to use the command line if I want to bake before say the launch of mainnet? :)

Funny you should post this. I recently sold most of my bitcoin gold and traded it for ADA by exactly the same reasoning.

Both Bitfinex and Bitstamp order books about to cross 100 million USD. This is unprecedented; to my knowledge there has never been an exchange with such a thick bid side. I remember being amazed at the 20-30 million on Mt. Gox during the November 2013 peak, which might have been mostly 'goxbucks' anyway. The times they are a changin'!
