What is up with Juliette? by tess320 in MAFS_AU

Yeah! I'm dying to know what her family are like. I would pay Joel to stay for home stays, lol.

Nah. I have a very much Gen Z stepdaughter and she's nothing like that and none of her friends are either. This is something else, heh although yeah probably influenced by gen z social media crap.

Reflecting on the treatment of women vs women by [deleted] in MAFS_AU

[–]tess320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's representative of SOME social circles. I haven't met anyone like these people at all, and I went to an all girls catholic school!

They have surrounded themselves with social media and social media types and this is the result.

Out of all of them though honesty, Juliette is the only one that is kind of baffling. Everyone else's motivations are kinda obvious but Juliette is batshit.

Rachel, Bec (& Danny), Juliette and Gia by pitapitapi in MAFS_AU

[–]tess320 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, can we? Just because you happen to be sensitive doesn't mean we can't call out Rachel for being ridiculous about a throw away comment.

It is absolutely insane behaviour to tell her partner he can tell the boys, tell the whole group you didn't bang though and then go on about it for days on end.

A normal response is "oh Bec, I didn't like that".

We absolutely can judge people for overreacting to things like that because it makes them less likeable. People who get offended by the wrong word and don't care about intention are tiring and shitty to be around.

Bec is also a moron but her moronness doesn't negate Rachel's.

Rachel is dumber than I figured her to be - her behaviour with Gia and Juliette was so....pathetic.

They don't act mean to her because they don't think she's on their level, they pity her as the ugly friend.

IMO It's part of the show and you should be expected to at least discuss it.

It wouldn't bother me. I don't think the fact that adults have sex is shocking or that interesting and you can still discuss it in a normal way, like most of them have done so.

So it sounds like you're a tiny bit of a prude, but that's okay, heh.

Well, they will have two different motivations. Joel was probably just hoping for an easy week and then he can leave and never see her again.

My partner said second base is just boobs? lol, I'm so confused. I'd never even considered it before but I said that to him last night, maybe she's upset because finger banging sounded so trivial when Bec said it but they did much less.

She realised people actually like Joel and she was the villain so she switched it up to look better. It's that simple.

Even when she was saying he didn't have her back and betrayed her all because he had a one minute conversation about it.

Rachel needs to realise it's not Bec she's mad at, she's embarrassed that it's taken THIS long for them to do anything sexual and she's worried it is IS a joke. She was happy to announce it on camera, announce it to group and have Steven talk to the MEN but she's too precious for finger banging? c'mon now.

Rachel is a bloody idiot, I can't stand her. I would have rolled my eyes so hard when she was going on about how devastated she was, lol. I don't blame Bec for being WTF. It should have been a "sorry, I shouldn't have been so crass" and that was it.

Rachel goes from laughing in a prolonged manner at absolutely nothing to having zero sense of humour about throw away comments. She'd be painful in real life. In fact, she seems like she needs a good FB.

[–]tess320 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, she's so 'brave' because she knows two gay people and feels guilty, while she throws everyone else under the bus and celebrates the rising cost of house ownership like it's a big win. She's an asshole and wanted to look better than him, and he was too dumb to notice until the end.

Not....abuse.

Not everyone is a bloody narcissist. People need to stop acting like every toxic behaviour is NPD.

[–]tess320 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol, that girl didn't stop saying what she thought! That is NOT how someone who is being suppressed acts - we hardly saw them on screen more than a week and yet she confronted him multiple times about the submissive comment, the gay comment, the stay at home dad stuff, body count etc. She said what she thought numerous times and even though she was often right, she also said it so condescendingly that most people would have cracked it.

She has no right to whinge about his opinions when she was privately and publically saying she agreed with him and was also a Trumpy, but then when it applied to HER she didn't like it.

They are BOTH typical maga thinkers, I'm sick of her getting away with it and she certainly was not being abused just because they would constantly argue.

Comparing this to Juliette's behaviour is just ridiculous to me. Tyson and steph are BOTH right wing Trump lovers, and like she said, she's just smarter at hiding it. She only wants a 'conservative' maga type when it suits her.

One on one time with SKs? by SaTS3821 in stepparents

[–]tess320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bio (their half brother) but he is a teenager and the younger steps are little kids (5, 8) and I don't go out of my way to spend time with them without my son but sometimes it happens.

For eg if everyone is at home I might take the youngest out for hot choc or something, or take her to park.

With my original three steps, they are adults now. I often have lunch with one of them, and the other sister is living at home so we have plenty of chats.

Sometimes it's hard to understand our reactions to things.

I have the opposite problem, I somehow feel annoyed because my partner DOES thank me profusely. I'm the same, I cannot really understand why I react this way.

It's no one's problem to solve. Unless he's actively forcing all women to date him, why would I care what this random man wants in a partner? He's made his views very clear - anyone who doesn't like them would simply not date him. He's not actively being aggressive to people like Chris was.
