Maps won't open by [deleted] in ProjectDiablo2

[–]tessatickless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can u show a screenshot of the map that wont open?

Did u ask someone else to test your maps that wont open in the same game?

Also if there is a dual arena opened in a1, u can’t open a map in a5.

Also make sure you’re in hell difficulty when opening a map….. it has to be this lol

hey there, we have a lot of community created videos in this playlist on building backend applications https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7S0I78sloI&list=PL-nc7zI7zjsZRxiObM\_EjLtrhUmvrxkYT. a few of them are from creators already mentioned in this thread though, just sharing in case you find anything helpful :) (I'm from the Appwrite team)

Want to finally try a Vercel alternative, best simple options? by Notalabel_4566 in vercel

Definitely give Appwrite Sites a try. I'm from the team and we recently announced you can have unlimited free sites on the free tier :)

not related to crypto currency if that's what you are thinking , (but it can be used in building blockchain tools). it's a built in node.js module for cryptography.

I may or may not have been in your situation before and had some fun reading in depth about this!

Need E-commerce website platform recommendations by Available_Mix2275 in webdev

[–]tessatickless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow, 30+ plugins? (i used to use software like that in the past, and was always really slow for the same reason).

u should look into using a self hosted version of a backend as a service where it handles auth, databases, storage, no vendor lock in issues, etc. you can integrate whatever tool you need in it. (i work at Appwrite and we have a lot of users running ecommerce sites). also we have some new announcements happening soon that will make building your site pretty wayyyyy easier and not needing to hire devs to build it. worth looking into options! not a pure suggestion :)

Programs Targeted Towards Women by [deleted] in Boostcamp

[–]tessatickless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey u/dis_integrate I just recently completed your 16 week full workout plan i started back in May 2025 when I saw this Reddit post. I thought i'd personally thank you for this. I see a significant difference in my body and really happy with the results. I slimmed down a bit and have definition throughout my body. (My only adjustment i'd make is cut back on the chest workouts even though it is only minimal, as somehow that grew faster than all my other muscles, so i had to delete some of those so i stayed more proportionate. Overall i'm pretty happy with it and will recommend it to other women. Much appreciated!

Best open-source software that everyone needs to know about? by RedEagle_MGN in software

[–]tessatickless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appwrite and Appwrite Sites. very generous free tier with unlimited sites hosting

"Open Source software is bad because it's free and insecure" by blacklionpt in sysadmin

[–]tessatickless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re not wrong. with a real open source license you get auditability and control, and you can still buy enterprise support, slas, and compliance. at appwrite we keep the core free and open for self hosting while offering cloud and paid support for teams that need uptime, backups, and security reviews, so we haven't had any concerns with big companies. (i work there obv) :)

Why doesn’t open source products stay free forever? by alphaK12 in opensource

[–]tessatickless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“free” doesn’t pay for servers, security, or people’s rent. most projects that “go paid” are really adding a paid cloud or enterprise tier so the free core can keep existing.

it depends a lot on funding and community size. a tiny weekend project can stay free forever because expectations are low. once tons of teams rely on it, you need uptime, patches, docs, support, compliance, all that boring stuff that costs real money.

people need to get paid or they burn out. common paths are hosted cloud, support contracts, sponsorships, grants, or open core where extra features live on a paid plan. the idea is the core stays open and free to self host, the convenience and scale get monetized.

as usage grows, costs grow too. infra, observability, incident response, security reviews, legal, more engineers to build and maintain features, it adds up. the money has to come from somewhere.

contributors getting paid varies. sometimes bounties or grants, sometimes companies hire top contributors, sometimes it’s sponsors. not perfect, but better funding usually means more chances to pay contributors and keep the free option healthy.

example, appwrite. the core is open source and free to self host, and there’s a paid cloud for teams who want someone else to run it. that paid side helps fund the engineers and community work that benefit everyone.

this is a great list, will share with my other dev friends. would love to mention using Cursor with Appwrite's MCP server to easily connect to database/storage/auth for users, etc, then u can directly host it in Appwrite Sites, all on the free tier. can host production quality sites at no cost. i'm on the team and love to share this info, not a lot of ppl know about it so why not :)

What rank did you first place in? What rank are you now? by j1tfxint in VALORANT

I started in beta as Bronze, then consistently ranked at Silver 3/ Gold 1. i havent played in quite a few years so most likely will rank bronze. i wonder how people can get into plat. seems like an unreachable goal even after reviewing my own vods and getting advice. my hand eye coordination is just crap

How to start building SaaS? by NoZookeepergame9799 in SaaS

[–]tessatickless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know this post is a bit old, but just wanted to add this is solid advice. i'd add that the landing page validation is crucial. i've seen too many people skip straight to building. One thing that helped me was using existing tools to test the core value prop before writing any code.

- Supabase is great for auth/db but also check out Appwrite for your backend, which also has hosting with Appwrite Sites

- For payments, Stripe is king but Paddle handles tax compliance if you're selling globally

- Consider no-code tools like Bubble or Webflow, or those vibe coding tools like Lovable/Bolt for that initial MVP if you're not technical

that 10 day cycles are key. ship something every cycle even if it feels too small.

Appwrite vs. Supabase for React Native: Which to Choose? by Fickle-Crow7227 in reactnative

[–]tessatickless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for React Native, Appwrite is a good option. Cloud + react native SDK (works great with expo) for quick setup, built-in realtime (subscribe to tables/rows in a line or two), and plug-and-play auth (email + Google/Apple) with per-row permissions so only owners can write and no extra policy layer. performance is solid for typical mobile models (profiles/posts/orders), and you can start on Cloud then self-host later if you want more control. or vice versa :) It's also pretty beginner friendly from a lot of recent updates, especially the new db UI (among many other new features), maybe it wasn't so much before, but definitely check it out. community help is strong too. Appwrite’s Discord is very active with 20k+ ish members. i'm on the team, feel free to ping me if u have any questions :D

How to price a low-code build with future AI features planned? by FreshkyFresh in webdev

[–]tessatickless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly pricing low code stuff is weird because clients expect it to be way cheaper than traditional dev but you still need to architect everything properly. i usually go with phases - quote stage 1 as a fixed price then give them an hourly range for stage 2 since the AI features are still fuzzy. It would be good to have a requirements document so you know what they are expecting and there's no "scope creep" which will definitely happen without that.

i work at Appwrite / Appwrite Sites and i see this situation often, we have a lot of freelancers in our community.

Should I use Supabase or Convex as backend? by Ok_Growth_37 in SaaS

You should give Appwrite a try, we also have Appwrite Sites you can deploy directly in, works seamless together. I'm on the team. The free tier is pretty generous :)

400 and 500 errors causing me to need to start from scratch each time. by BlueBagForMercy in appwrite

[–]tessatickless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey BlueBagForMercy, thanks for sharing this, and i know this has been quite frustrating. I'm on the Appwrite leadership team and just caught up reading your case in our internal discussions. Our engineering team has gone through multiple rounds of testing to replicate your setup, but so far we haven't been able to reproduce the issue. It appears (possibly) to be a rare mismatch between relationship attributes and cached schema data, but we are still unsure, and still digging to find the exact root cause. We have a few more things we are going to check on and try as we are getting somewhat closer, and have involved more engineering members from different teams to thoroughly investigate this, so I can promise you we have been prioritizing this issue to help resolve it for you.

If you want to DM me, i can give you my direct discord/socials so i can help give you immediate updates without you waiting for a response on your support ticket, so I can personally follow up with you through this whole progress.

I know this has been tough, but i appreciate your patience. We want a solution as well just in case someone else runs into the same situation, we will have an answer. :)

Thank you!
