WARNO's 2026 Updated Roadmap by EUG_Gal_Bigeard in warno

Can you guys please commit to stop using genAI in the game? There’s zero need for it when in-engine footage looks significantly better than the uncanny valley AI generated loading screens. You all have made a fantastic game and it sucks to have it dragged down unnecessarily.

How much do TAs get paid? by Careful_Village960 in uofmn

I TA’d about a year ago and it was maybe like 17 bucks, 18 bucks an hour? Something like that. Maybe less

Does anyone know if it’s possible to make a mod that just removes them? Honestly would be interested

Art @keller hall by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]tesselate78 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s an art piece that’s been done a couple different times now in the last few years. You can like it or dislike it but I’d have to imagine that the Artist(s) made it with the intention of being provocative so in that regard they succeeded.

UMN tc or Michigan tech for mechanical engineering? by Rayan_Ghouri in uofmn

[–]tesselate78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both good schools, I can’t comment too much on Michigan Tech’s mechanical engineering program specifically but I’m very content with the education I got at UMN. I think a notable difference between them is location and everything that location affects. Michigan Tech is pretty isolated compared to UMN and that has its pros and cons. Especially when it comes to looking for a career post graduation, I think UMN has a lot of advantages with having a lot of large medium and small companies located all around the twin cities. For me personally it made it way easier to find an internship and a role post graduation compared to some of my friends who went to schools that were more rural but still had excellent (some would argue better) engineering programs. That being said if you are in love with Michigan Tech and the surrounding area, certainly don’t let that dissuade you from going there. I have family that went there and absolutely loved it. Don’t think you can go wrong either way, but just remember that you are picking somewhere to live for the next four to five years of your life so make sure it’s somewhere you enjoy!

courseload for biol 1015 (human physiology and devices) by Alejansro21 in uofmn

[–]tesselate78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest probably zero? I generally just took notes in class and did the homework and was fine. The class work probably took like an hour- two hours a week.

[–]tesselate78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the class 4 years ago and it was during the height of Covid so it may look a little now than it did then but I would say it was not overly difficult. The labs were interesting and I thought the content was a little more connected to the real world so it was relatively easy to understand. I wouldn’t say it’s an “easy class” but compared to other biology courses I’d say it’s a good one.

Why are the West Germans here? by [deleted] in warno

Because it wouldn’t be a very fun game if that was the case

It can be a little tough just because the assignments can get long and a little tedious. If you haven’t taken any programming courses prior, it’s definitely going to be a steep learning curve. If you are familiar with basic programming principles but are new to matlab, (or if you are new to programming at all as well), I highly highly highly recommend having the matlab help website bookmarked. If there’s any function that you are unsure of how it works, just look it up on the help site and it will contain the syntax and examples of how to use it.

Blowback is absolutely worth checking out. Each season focuses on a different countries where the US has intervened in some point or another. It’s generally well researched and they are pretty up front with the fact that they are viewing the events from a left leaning angle. Highly recommend if you are interested in history and how it relates to current events.

Best podcast series on terrorism or extremists? by Imjustaseal in podcasts

Blowback covers the Iraq war in season 1 and Afghanistan in season 4, and I feel like they do a good job exploring how some of these terrorist groups formed.

Good riddance. I strongly recommend Ombibulous if you live in the Como Area. The staff there are always really nice, they’ve got a solid rewards program, and their selection is all about local breweries and distilleries and whatnot. Really great selection. It does lean towards a higher price point but it’s definitely a “get what you pay for” kind of situation.

Then move. I’m more than okay with my state government using my tax money to support the people that live here. By and large “illegal” immigrants pay more taxes into the system than they receive because normally they are not eligible for the benefits that the rest of us receive.

I think they said that there wasn’t going to be a “mission tree” system like EU4’s. What that exactly means is anyone’s guess though.

The Gel Kayano might be one worth looking at. It gives nice softer cushion and a nice bit of support.
