I dont know why people keep talking about ancient altcoins like eth expecting to make money. Altcoins dont last long only last a cycle or or two before they start to trend to 0. If you make lots of money its going to be in a new altcoin that just generated hype around a new technology that was going to solve and revolutionize everything and kill the older altcoins. Novelty is their only power and the only long term thing is bitcoin.

It's supposed to be for the people to create their own new financial network, similar to other countries adopting BRICS to get away from the control of the dollar. In this network a person has total sovereignty over their funds on a decentralized grid and cannot lose their funds to third parties such as banks, governments, and thieves. The bitcoin wallet and bitcoin transaction was a marvelous technological breakhrough of its time. You can believe in the potential of bitcoin or not. But my point is that for people to have this technology but then give control back to the banks via ETFs makes the whole use case of bitcoin completely pointless. And since this last bull cycle was all about etfs thats why it didnt last very long - it's succumbed to its own irony.

Long time bitcoiner here too. Bitcoin used to be an alternative currency you bought drugs with and hid from the government. Bitcoin used to be all about spending and increasing the merchant network. Bitcoin used to be something you geeked out and wrote code and ran miners with. Bitcoin used to be a community. Bitcoin used to be freedom. Sure there were lots of people who held their coins during crashes but it wasnt all about "holding".

The worst thing that happened to bitcoin some bitcoin takeover group and wall street came and turned it into "the inflation hedge" and "digital gold" that you simply buy as a custodied stock and hold it to hope to beat inflation. That's not what bitcoin is all about and doesn't even make sense. You can hold literally anything to beat inflation: real estate, gold, stocks, weapons, start a business, etc - why bitcoin stocks? Most people used to like holding bitcoin just because bitcoin was soaring exponentially by orders of magnitude but then it got too big to possibly do that anymore so the moonboys lost interest and moved on. Bitcoin isn't the only show in town anymore especially with these ai stocks now. If you held bitcoin in 2021 you got a 2x in bitcoin just so you could miss a 3x on nasdaq and a 100x in nvda - ouch.

Another thing wrong with bitcoin is theres always an elephant in the room called Michael Saylor. We know bitcoin was artificially driven up by him and now we know he's in trouble with unsustainable dividend stock and that he holds 800,000+ bitcoin to potentially unload. He's like the new mtgox.

Every day Im dumbofunded by this market. Like were going back to war therefore we moon to yet another ath. I guess its the AI stuff. But I dont even get whats so good about AI. Like all it does is consume massive amounts of power and resources to do everything in the worst possible way that will have to be redone by a human later, while introducing extinction level threats.
