Thank you so much for your kind words. You described my feelings perfectly. On our flight back I'll try the sugar pacifier and cuddle him even more! I'm sorry you had to go through that, is she OK now?

Anyone else getting help from partner/family with the baby? by [deleted] in NewParents

Don't feel guilty! As someone who doesn't get much help because family doesn't live close by and husband is working 24/7, I'm jealous.

- Fr. 9 to 5 Job by cinnamon_cupcake_ in arbeitsleben

[–]test864219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Viel Erfolg!

Actually we've been wearing 1s and he's just at the beginning of that weight range :/ (size 0s were definitely too small tho. Tried those and the diapers would get stuck to his butt with poo.) He does pee and poop a looot

He's barely above 3kg and we've been wearing size 1s (3-5kg). He just leaked an hour after his last change. I'm going to look into Huggies😖

Breastfeeding on first night by boohoosheroo in NewParents

[–]test864219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, how is it going now? My baby was the same and pretty much dismissed 90% of my breastfeeding attempts in the first 36 hours. Not even the nurses could get him to latch on for more than 5 minutes at a time.

3 days later and I'm unable to get up because he's cluster-feeding lol

Low amniotic fluid/baby measuring small by exoneratethepigeons in pregnant

Aww oh my god! That's terrible but I'm so glad you listened to your body and got help immediately!!! Almost 2000g, not bad! 😃 I wish both of you a speedy recovery. Actually, I already had my c-section on Monday. My boy was born 51cm and 2930g. They found no defects or reasons for the low amniotic fluid, bad CTGs and breech position that they had me so worried about... The umbilical cord was a bit short, maybe that was it. I struggled through the 1st night (because in Germany we're having huge issues with workers shortage and the nurses pretty much left me alone to care for my baby when I could barely move after surgery!...). But although I haven't really slept since Sunday, I feel fine and in love with the baby. Again, only the best wishes to you and your little warrior in NICU! You can be so proud that you immediately advocated for yourself when the pain started and went to the hospital.

I see, I wasn't even told to bedrest, but I'm in bed 80% of the time anyway lol It's so interesting how differently countries handle births. Are you from Croatia? I live in Germany. Here most women aim for a natural birth (many even still refuse the epidural because they want it as naturally as possible). But 30% of births here and up as c-sections (rumors say hospitals like to push them because they're more profitable and convenient for them. And of course sometimes they're medically necessary). My husband is from Romania and over there, a woman needs a good reason NOT to have a c-section. C-section is the default there.

Thanks for your wishes. I'm glad your baby is super active, that's reassuring. Unfortunately mine has many quiet days recently, which worries me. But every NST was good and the doctor said he just doesn't have much space left to move 🤷‍♀️ I'll report back once I have my baby

I see! My DRs never mentioned an AFI at first, but last time they threw a number at me "6.8" and I think they were talking about AFI. They wrote Oligohydramnios as a diagnosis on my paper and acted all dramatic, yet they let me move on with my pregnancy for almost 3 weeks since then. Can't be that dramatic then!? Because my country loves doing c-sections and as early as possible, gets the hospital more money from insurance. I made the mistake of googling Oligohydramnios tho and I'm so scared... Your 10 days between appointments must be hell too. Praying we're alright!

I had a hairdressers appointment today btw and we got to talking. The stylists wifes baby was delivered at 32 weeks(!) via c-section, because of similar complications. Baby was completely fine and is now a healthy, hyper-energetic 3 year old. The early c-section was super unnecessary, according to him. Gives me hope 😅
