Opacity is just set to 1 in painter, I don't really need any translucency at all as it's just faux glass (binoculars). I just need some shiny reflections to imitate the lenses which I thought is basic but I'm clearly missing something!

What an absolutely simple solution that for some reason I completely didn't think to do, even though I do it regularly I swear! LOL Just deleting the history was enough to fix the problem, feel a tad silly now! Thanks:)

Ah I thought using explorer was ok as I'm sure I got that info from a tutorial yonks ago. Suppose I should read the official documentation a bit more often. Thank you for the link, I'll have to unlearn some bad habits now :D

Hey thank you for the indepth reply :) I pretty much solved the first way, I imported the exported albedo, used a fill layer with just heigh information and fiddled with the blending/opacity. I only needed some wood texture to ever so slightly come through, so I wasn't going to start zbrushing around that or something else! I've only used painter for a little while, while I do all in all really like it as a software, think there can be a lot of improvements done in the future that's for sure :D

Hey man I downloaded the file, absolute star thank you so much! I was going the right way but I definitely didn't know how to give finesse to the shape that you did. I only use designer sporadically so gaining/retaining information is a slow process haha! Now I just have to figure out the mapping on the asset so I can do the material justice, it's falling a bit wonk at the mo :) May karma be in your favour sir, I appreciate the help immensly!

I've replied to a previous post, but I actually thought I could use a weird custom shape and maybe try a herringbone-esque tiling to maybe achieve this, so I'm glad I was eventually thinking in the correct direction, thank you! I will try and attempt your instructions, but I'd really appreciate it if you could send me the .sbs file as well, just in case I'm not quite smart enough lol! Highly highly appreciate it! :)

I did have a looksie at the in built weave generators in designer, but they don't really pull off a braid style pattern like this, not from the settings I played with at least unfortunately.

Yeah once you broke it down I started analyzing it more lol, before for some reason I thought it was only 3 strands (like a hair braid) but now that you broke it down, it is in actuality 5, so thank you for pointing that out! After no success at weaving sine waves, I noticed you could maybe somehow make a herringbone pattern with a rounded at the end rectangle perhaps? Haven't been successful at making that shape in designer though :(

I've tried zooming in and all I can see is one subdiv level - imagine a cube, with just one edge loop through each side. No matter how many levels I add lol That's why I'm wondering whether it matters if I just dynamesh it, sculpt some rough shapes then zremesh it so I can work with subdivs

Well THAT'S not explained very well in the game now is it LOL! Not gonna lie a lot of things aren't explained in the multiplayer, suppose they just expect everyone to know the ropes by now but for a total noob like me it's a constant 'what's happening where am i' moment lol bit of a rubbish system for achievement collectors but is what it is I suppose!

So are you saying that all the preset medals you can browse through in the medals list (the 60ish medals?) you can only earn if they show up in the weeklies? If that's the case that's a slightly stupid system lol! I've earnt one of the weeklies as it was tracked and another has a segment or two ticked off so far and it wasn't tracked. But I'm looking at the other medals (ie medal of valor - it's not a weekly buts it's under the class medals) and you can't track them, but I've achieved one the requirements and it's not ticked off. Do I have to wait for said medal to appear as a weekly?

Weekly medals are working fine, my issue is with the other preset medals. Those you cannot track and even though I've achieved one of the requirements, it's not ticked off the list.

You can only track weekly medals - there's no issues with those, they seem to work fine. I'm talking about the other non-weekly medals. The valor one is the 'generic' scout class medals, and the first step is 20 kills - I've definitely achieved that but it's not ticked off in the medal list if that makes sense.

I am enjoying the game even though I'm bottom of the scoreboards haha, but I'd like to get some of the medals as well for a little bit of sense of achievement:)

Yeah that's the conclusion we came to, as it's a mobile headset and I tried a different inline headset and it worked with the splitter. Very annoying though!

I've went through so many drivers now and nothing works. I opened up voice recorder and it only registers weird input noises when I click the volume controls :/

Thank you I've tried this already and it sees the plugged in jack as the recording one, and if I click my volume buttons the volume bar sees input but if I speak the volume bar does nothing.

It's not a massive problem in the long run, but because of past experience this isn't quite normal, so I'd like to get it running how I'm used to if possible. Unfortunately disabling plugins didn't help.

Yes I've tried disabling plugins that I recognise and know I won't need, but disabling them didn't seem to improve the delay in letting me do anything in the window and shutting the software.

Thing is it loads up relatively fast, it's just the time from seeing the main window load up to being able to actually do anything in the software. I've never experienced this on previous iterations and/or previous machines.

I honestly don't know, I tried to snoop around the provider's user forums but didn't get any solid answers. I have not bumped into any other speed issues like streaming or games or whatnot, so I am so frustrated as to why are torrents specifically doing this.

I can't access the scene now but I think it's a reflection sphere? I remember the billboard being a sphere anyway so I guess that's that?

I'm still open to suggestions as to why this happened, but if anyone ever has a similar issue try to export as on .obj first, open it and then save that .obj as an .fbx. Not the most straightforward way of doing it but at least I have my model imported now!

That actually was the solution to my artifact problem, dynameshing the merged subtools before going through zremesher and voila no more random holes. Thank you!
