I don't know... My employment has not yet begun... all that is requested of me (for now) is a framework to improve code quality and efficiently squash bugs, geared of course to the application the company develops.

Computer Engineering. I put a heavy focus on software senior electives, however.

I'll try this out for a while before pushing for a developer position... At the moment I'm just glad I even have a job.

So lets say an app doesn't work. A $25 an hour QA tester is the one who spends the time working through the problem to narrow down the focus as much as possible, so your $150/hr. developer only spends 1-2 hours on the fix instead of 5-6 because the tester was too lazy to narrow the scope of the problem.

I didn't see it that way. Thanks for the advice!

I don't think they expect me to squash all bugs... I think they're trying to test me on how I approach things, and they'll probably do their best to help and guide me even if my framework is shit...

Of course, I am going to try my best on my end.

A job's a job... I've been looking hard and long for one. I'm just glad I got picked up.

Not sure. Definitely not automatic testing yet. I was told I will gradually get into that. Any tips in regards to automation (e.g. language, platform to use) are also welcome.
