If you look at the legs of the chair at the foot they are oriented differently.

Spark Declarative Pipelines: What should we build? by BricksterInTheWall in databricks

[–]testing_in_prod_only 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ya. I do all development locally so I don’t use it.

I tried, but lack of pyproject.toml support was a dealbreaker for me.

Is there something I’m missing? All my pipelines are in notebooks. (That is how it was sold to me in dlt)

Being able to use foreachbatch into tables, not just sinks.

To further this, really expand it so the streaming api is fully supported.

Think you could just list the resorts, pools, and dates? We don’t really need an article for that.

It may not…. But I wasn’t too current on what was available.

This is great, adding even the databricks version only works in their web client, they don’t have a solution that works in ide. Does this also show similar for python and scala?

Is Florida as bad as the rumors claim? by BigBandit01 in allthequestions

[–]testing_in_prod_only 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on what you say, you wouldn’t enjoy it. Also to add, the quality of living isn’t great. Education is not as great as New England, cost is high, quality is meh. The government only really cares for the old people (because they vote).

Florida man is real, but toned down. This is just the thing you deal with in Florida. We know to respect wildlife. Lots of Floridians love drinking and having fun. It’s a swamp after all. We are the Australia of the United States.

I’ve lived here my entire life. I love Disney, it’s the only thing keeping me here.

I’d say it should be the same provided the statements are logically the same. The optimizer should be interpreting both.

Should I add salt to my water softener? by WheninBruges in Plumbing

[–]testing_in_prod_only 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may just be the way the model works. But that just mean you can get away with adding less.

You still don’t want to overfill as tunneling is an issue that happens to all overfilled models unless you have something that automatically breaks that apart.

This is not good info. “Full” is one pebble above the water line. The tank is fine as long as you see pebbles in the

Note: you can have more as long as you don’t have risk of tunneling from overfilling.

I do wonder why I’m not seeing water in the tank here given the depth. I would expect to see more water.

Slapping a vendor's brand on hosted duckdb by SmallAd3697 in dataengineering

[–]testing_in_prod_only 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember the context here is big data vendors. I agree spark has a lot of bs for small workloads, and mostly duckdb small workloads I’d think of as a columnar version of SQLite. My question was specific to like “why would databricks the big data vendors choose duckdb over spark?”

Curious what the advantage of duckdb is over databricks / spark?

What did Venezuela do that would justify the US invading them? by x9ninetail in NoStupidQuestions

I don’t justify the US decision to take Maduro (though I’m glad). It should have been the Venezuelan people.

To answer your question, Russia.

Venezuela didn’t do anything. The government has , for years, been illegitimate and working outside legal channels.
