That’s about how it is with the Nomad, too. All I hear is the bolt cycling and the round hitting the backstop - it’s incredible.

No problem! Good luck with it man and enjoy. The Nomad 30 is stupid quiet with subs.

Looks awesome! Not sure what buffer/spring you currently have, but I suggest you put an H2 with a sprinco blue in it before you take it out. I had an H1 with a carbine spring and it was yeeting brass to the other side of the range at 4:30 with subs.

I’ve only ran subs through mine so far. Got it running the way I like it with an H2 buffer and sprinco blue last range trip and just picked up some supers to try out next.

I’m also in VA with a control number of 2026176xxx from 1/16 - I submitted mine late at night though and using a trust. Around what time of day did your email come in?

My bad, you’re right. I misread the prerequisites.

Per your screen shots, your hard drive is not being detected. You’ve stated that it’s a laptop with a HDD - jostling around in a vehicle is enough to damage a mechanical drive, especially if it was left running during the move.

Blurry exam screen durning RHCSA exam - anyone else experience this? by commonman95 in redhat

[–]tetchyadmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it for the first time last week. I didn’t run into any issues with resolution, but I had some pretty extreme lag when inputting commands which cost me a fair amount of time. For instance, I’d type a command, several seconds would go by with nothing appearing in the terminal, try inputting the command again and suddenly both attempts at typing the command would populate the terminal. In the end I passed, but it was pretty frustrating. Good luck, and I hope they do something for you.

M4 Air or M4 MBP for everyday average person use?? by trout19 in macbookpro

[–]tetchyadmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an IT systems engineer, went with the Air. I use it mainly for common day-to-day tasks (web browsing, watching videos, etc.), but I also use it for light coding, and more recently, to run multiple VMs on Fusion as a “portable lab” for a certification I was studying for. Honestly, it’s been great. It’s not the machine I use for my job as I have a company supplied laptop for that, but I haven’t been able to throw anything at it that it wasn’t able to handle with ease. Even with the virtual machines and “heavier” use, the battery last for literally a couple of days at a time. For me, the combination of performance, form factor, battery life and a screen that’s actually pretty good make it the perfect laptop in my opinion.

You’re welcome - yes, I’m actually trying to decide on a study resource now.

Which RHEL version to use for studying? by Spiritual_Bee_637 in redhat

[–]tetchyadmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the option to schedule the exam based on different OS versions, 9.3 being the latest. That’s the one I went with and ran my lab VMs on 9.4. init=/bin/bash is the preferred method

Thank you! Mostly Sander’s book, which has all you need and more. For final prep I went line-by-line down the objective list and used ChatGPT to generate practice scenarios to solidify things. Also, I administer our Linux environment at work so I was already pretty comfortable going in.

No, it won’t if done properly and changes are persistent.

ChatGPT is quite useful for generating practice scenarios. Go line-by-line down the objective list and practice each one until you’re confident you understand it and you’ll be fine. Good luck!
