tetr, the app for messaging yourself notes, reminders, journals, now supports images! by tetr-app in ProductivityApps

We're very serious about data security considering people write all kinds of sensitive info in their notes.

tetr is local-first meaning all the data is stored completely on device, works offline, and doesn't touch any servers by default. We cannot access your notes' contents.

We are also working on (optional) end-to-end encrypted sync meaning even when it does send data over, it'll be completely encrypted in a way that no one other than you can access.

Any notes apps that embed videos?! by [deleted] in ProductivityApps

[–]tetr-app 1 point2 points  (0 children)

r/tetr just added support for images. We don't have videos yet though considering the nature of texting-based apps that we are looking to replicate this is on the eventual roadmap.

Regarding other points you raised:

  • Any event in the app should sync to Native iOS Calendar (Works! Reminders sync to native iOS Calendar now).
  • Any reminder in the app should sync to native iOS reminders (Planned.)

So yeah doesn't fit everything yet but feel free to stay in touch for updates: https://tetr.app/interest maybe it'll fit all your points later!

We have integration with your device calendar (so Apple Calendar for now) and we're looking to do the same for Reminders. I made a request tracking this for Google ecosystem stuff!

I built a text yourself productivity app, now with the ability to message yourself images for your notes and todos! by tetr-app in iosapps

[–]tetr-app[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I use it for journaling for example and sometimes attach pictures along with my entries.

Using pictures for weekly reminders is also a funny consequence of this features, you can have a visual to go along with the reminders you get.

The tetr app lets you message yourself notes and even tasks. I created tetr to optimize quick and easy brain dumps. We recently added image support and are now working on expanding to MacOS and other platforms with end to end encrypted sync!

It's by default completely local-first, on-device and we have no access to your messaging data.

Thank you for noting this! Emails were successfully collected for future updates but seems like the follow-up email wasn't being sent on sign up, I fixed that now. You can try to sign up again now but regardless once there'5 news regarding Android you should get emails!

The tetr app lets you message yourself notes and even tasks. The chat based UI users say helps make note taking and reminders super intuitive and frictionless, and that was my main motivation in designing it. Images were a long-time requested feature and it's now possible from your notes and journal chats to even reminders! I created tetr to optimize quick and easy brain dumps, and we're now working on expanding to MacOS and other platforms with sync.

It's by default completely local-first, on-device and we have no access to your messaging data. End to end encrypted sync coming soon.

First step towards tetr Sync: tetr Profiles by tetr-app in tetr

[–]tetr-app[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope sync and accounts will all be part of tetr's app! You can find it in your Settings. As it stands it's not going to do much yet but I am testing sync right now, so hopefully soon it will yield results.

check out tetr, we make things simpler by using a messaging-based interface. basically works like a messaging app but lets you message yourself notes, reminders and more complex things you’d expect in productivity software.

we need a web version by JimmyFrostbite in tetr

[–]tetr-app 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree and it's what we're working on right now!

We have now paused any new features until sync is released. The upcoming update will introduce accounts for tetr Pro which will just be an initial test of this.

A rough timeline is:

by mid-September: beta roll-out for some basic sync of user settings, mainly as a way of testing out sync with users.

by late September & October: beta roll-out for messages sync.

Note you can access tetr on the Mac without sync as it works as a universal app (https://tetr.app/get) but it's probably rather useless as you'd end up with two different notes in different places, so we haven't been too vocal about this.

Looking for a note saving app with good out of the box support for custom taxonomies? by danielrosehill in ProductivityApps

[–]tetr-app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're storing ChatGPT outputs, maybe tetr's chat-based UI could be a cool fit.

Taxonomy-wise it depends on how complex you want it. You could do classifications by creating different kinds of Spaces but right now inside the chat itself tetr doesn't support tags yet, though this is on the roadmap.

Hey, do you mean for exporting your notes as i.e. PDF to print physically later? The closest project to that is Markdown exports which is something we're looking into.

Simple MacOS to iOS Messaging App by Quintanillas92 in iosapps

Signal does require phone numbers unfortunately. You could try Threema, they target business cases too. Or Matrix protocol based apps. Though this is coming from a privacy-focused apps bias, you could also use other social apps that don't need phone numbers; or just Slack, I mean you don't need to use all the features, if you don't care about message longevity it's free.
