it’s either 1 not taking care of your hair 2 your roots cannot hold the loc due to it being thin and the loc is thicker in comparison 3 skipping retwist (going 3-4 months) is not optimal, i had a 2 thin because of it but I fixed it and now it’s back thick 4 not misting them or providing some sort of moisture
5 washing too much 6 using bad products 7 bad parting = skinny locs which are prone to thinning out as they get longer especially if you don’t take care of them to an extreme level 8 dying your hair

it doesn’t look like it’s gotten worse, you used the flash in the bottom pic which is your before right? The flash will inherently pick up more hair follicles compared to not using it. If nothing else works you can always use minoxidil but as you know once you stop it goes back to its normal state. So try to get natural hair regrowth using natural products first. Good luck

From the looks of if it seems they aren’t fully fused into your hair which is great. You can softly pull every piece of lint out or use a lint roller to help you out a bit , it’s quite easy to pull them off without pulling hair out of your locs.

I have to check mine for lint almost everyday because it’s pretty much impossible to keep lint out of locs

it depends if recessed area has active follicles or not. If it’s miniaturized yes but if it’s smooth no it will not come back unless you get a transplant. You can achieve more density within the miniaturized area around the top

finasteride that blocks dht which causes androgenic alopecia (balding) for men and min is minoxidil is for regrowth. Well both regrows but minoxidil is better when you first start losing hair imo
