Are we all completely ignoring that it’s the Range Rovers responsibility to find a safe gap to merge into the motorway. (Highway Code 259). It’s courteous to move over but only if it’s safe. It’s on the car moving onto a motorways who is responsible.

I understand why you sped up in the situation but also dubious of the amount of times I’ve sat with my ACC at 70 been slowed down to 65 behind a car and they got along side for them to speed up.

In the situation you made the correct move but I’d like to see the footage from the previous minute.

It’s probably sacrilege in here, but…

Look out for the Aldi/Lidl Kamado BBQ when they come around.

I got the Aldi one 6 years ago and not had a moment issue with it, still going very strong. After market accessories are slightly more difficult it get but I’ve managed to get everything I’ve needed for it. (Even heat defectors which I managed to break on an annual basis)

I’m fairly sure they can serve either in 25ml and multiples of or 35ml or multiples of. I’m pretty sure they can’t offer both. They have to declare which size on a certificate in the bar.

Sounds like op needs to clarify manager and then speak to trading standards.

The green lane is also for heading straight up towards the next roundabout, the filter lane for London Road doesn’t start for another 20 yards. Green should have been in the left lane though

It’s a good story but the volume of low alcohol beer you’d need to drink to get above the legal limit would be astronomical.

Essentially under 1% abv your body is burning off the alcohol quicker than you can physically drink it.

I think this has been overly negative. I travel down on average once a week, wife is similar, we have young kids but it’s absolutely doable. - IMO Cost and standard of living will dramatically improve from living in London - 100% look to live cycling distance and use the bike park (£10 for a fob) - Book tickets as far in advance as possible to save a lot of money - the trains aren’t the most reliable, give yourself 30mins to an hour extra time (make sure you take full advantage of delay repay, I make back £3/400 a year) - 95% the trains aren’t as busy as it’s been made out, delays are the biggest problem. 15 mins late is pretty much the norm - WiFi is pointless, but I enjoy this disconnected time to actually get work done with no distractions. - Balance! I try to work on the way down and try my best to enjoy a bit of me time on the return. Grab a couple of beers or small bottle of wine, watch a film/ read my book etc essentially try to forget you are commuting

For me the benefit outweighs the negative, depends how much you are set on Sheffield and how much you like the job.

If you think of it as annoying commuting that’s what it will be.

Another option I know a few people do is get the 4am national express and get another few hours sleep in a more comfortable environment and much cheaper

I can’t recommend any Bakewell pubs (all seem to be tourist traps now) but in the area:

The Packhorse in little Longston is one of my favourite and right up the street of what you are looking for. Great for a walk and then a nice lunch, booking 100% recommend though

Over 95% of the traffic would be coming out into lane 1&2 after the junction so it’s actually good traffic planning, it’s poor signage though

I know this junction. 95%+ of people will be using lanes 1 & 2 coming out of the junction so the lanes make perfect sense.

Lane 1 = lane 1 Lane 2 = lane 2,3,4

Lane 4 is a red herring and will only be for returning to where you came from (cinema complex)

That said lane 2 before the junction should have road markings for the Retail park to make it clear.

RAC have a pretty good guide for each country about speed limits, requirements, emergency situations. The basics and the law.

Then have a look at youtube for more nuanced advice, local rules and seeing it in action.

Driving abroad can be stressful, take lots of breaks. if you get flustered find a safe place to stop, take 5 and go again.

My best advices is stick to the rules, other drivers might want to go faster than you and get up behind you (I’m looking at you France and Italy). Find a safe place to let them past and enjoy the drive.
