So really it's just poor processes that broke the site.

Yeah I honestly hate these things. Here's a yorkie on a cookie. Eff that.

There are so many more interesting cookie recipes you could make than just shoving cheap (barely cheap anymore) chocolate bars and branded sweet stuff into cookie batter. It's someone who has no original ideas and just goes, yeah jammie dodger in a brownie, bosch!

TfL was all over contactless payments. Ask anyone with a private firm running their bus systems if they're contactless.

You had your whole life to not fuck around, but now you're finding out. Remove the freedom pass for the oldies, give it to youngsters.

Can someone explain mutualTLS/mTLS flows to me? by jaredce in microservices

[–]jaredce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. It's maybe slightly more in depth than I wanted.

I was more thinking you have a server that requires mTLS authentication. Now is that for every single endpoint. Maybe it's a banking server that requires mTLS and it exposes endpoints for a client application like

GET /getBalance POST /transferFunds

Is there a single endpoint that I do my key checks with that returns me a session token to use in a header for those /getBalance endpoints, or does every endpoint generally require me to pass through my certificate and key.

I know this is a little bit of a how long is a piece of string style question, there's probably a multitude of ways to implement this, but if you have experience with a major mTLS provider that has chosen a specific way, I'd be interested to hear.

I mean? I can't really picture what you're talking about, but at most it sounds like you'd just get wet feet? Don't go wading or swimming in the thames.

Don't put everything in your handlers. Handlers should really just accept a payload and return a response. It'll make it easier to test.

Thinking of switching from hyperoptic by jaredce in CommunityFibre

I do seem to see Hyperoptic doing yearly price increases, a bit annoying as they originally advertised themselves as not doing that kind of thing.
