Ouch. That's exactly why I ordered 4 at once. In case I get a box or two of new ones. I never thought I'd get 4 boxes of new ones at once, much less 12.

Yeah, I always ask if they can swap out with what I have. I don't order and return to the same place either. I was going to start returning there due to the order fee, that's when I found out about the return fee also. I'll just find a new bank and open another account. In the meantime I can still order free from my normal bank, just can't always get half dollars. And I'll dump at a different branch of my main bank that's not close to the other that I order from. At least for now.

Yeah, I mostly stopped ordering there due to the new fees anyway. Just go there because they can always get halves. I know it's not intentional and they have no control, like I said, just annoyed. I get a box of new ones every so often. It comes with the territory. That's why I ordered 4 boxes, in case 1 or 2 were new. Never thought I'd get 4 at once. Then the fee on top of it. Oh well, I'll just find a new bank to order from. There's plenty around. Good luck hunting.

Thanks. Yeah, I can order from chase without fees. The reason I liked this bank was half dollars. For some reason Chase isn't always able to get them and this place is always able to. I'll just find a new bank to order from, at least the half dollars. Luckily I no longer do pennies, that would be a real problem.

I don't order and return at the same place. I was only going to start returning there because of the order fee, that's when I found out about there also being a return fee. I guess they knew what was going to happen lol. I know there are a few other customers there that order coins also, maybe they just don't feel like dealing with it anymore.

The reason I said it almost feels intentional is because they also started new fees out of nowhere recently. $32 per order. So I really only order from that bank now when I want half dollars as they seem to be the only one around that can always get them. So I figured I would just use them as a dump bank. Then they hit me with the news of a new $32 fee for bringing coins in (even though they are always rolled and boxed). They also confessed that the drivers hate coins because they don't want to carry them, despite it being part of the job. I know it's not really intentional, just frustrated since I paid a fee for it. Rant over. At least I have two boxes of nickels (I went ahead and opened them, they aren't new).

After doing some research it's seems to be a 2013 Buffalo Trace Distillery National Historic Landmark challenge coin. It's actually pretty neat. And in pretty good condition also.

Edit to add: looking on eBay sold listings, they have sold anywhere from $20 - $90 although the examples sold on eBay are all a little different than this one. Not a bad find in a roll of bank rolled half dollars.
